Extended Oil Change Intervals, who's doing them?

Who's doing them without a bypass? I'm stretching out my drain interval from 10k to 30k but I'm not running a bypass filter. So I'm wondering if I should be changing my regular oil filter anyway even though the oil is being used longer.

I'm also seriously switching over to full synthetic. There's some Chicom Sinopec 15w40 by the 4.75 gallon pail for like 50 bucks shipped at Walmart.

On my pick-up, I run a MobilOne extended life oil filter since I drain the oil less frequently now. Should I be looking for something like that on my KW?

E model Cat. Affirmative on the samples. Just did my first one after a fresh Platinum kit. Other than silicon being elevated everything looked good.

I heard that was only with the high mileage blends. Glad I asked.

no idea exactly what happened, didnt know enough then, and even now, oil isnt something ive done a deep dive on, all i can say is i had a 3406e that needed a rebuild 3-4 weeks after a shop ignored my instructions for a 15-40 non-synth and put in their synthetic.

This IS an anecdote and as i stated, at the time i didnt know as much as i do now, but it never used or leaked a drop before they did the synthetic, 1.5 weeks later, started dripping here and there, at 3ish weeks, forbidden pudding in the oil fill tube.

    Do not recommend

It could just be the brand of oil and not the synthetic part.

I don't think synthetic vs. non matters.

Brand of oil most definitely matters.

I run Synthetic in my pickup and it's been awesome. Wish I had made the switch earlier.

Wrong. if the oil has the same API rating, then there isn't going to be an issue with seals.
