I have a 2000 International S2600 with a very wide feed mixer mounted on it…the mirrors need to be extended roughly 8-10” beyond the factory location to be able to see around the mixer and in addition when offloading the mixer there are obstacles that the mirrors would catch on….is there any type of mirrors out there that are retractable or foldable that are solid and sturdy that hold up….my experience has been folding mirrors loose there sturdiness after frequent folds and move around in locked position….I haven’t seen anything out there that looks even close to what I would call the solution…keep in mind I have drivers that will rip the mirror off or buckle the door because they are either half blind, or daydreaming, or a combination of the two…I’m beyond frustrated after countless mirror and door repairs over the years to the point where I want them to start feeding the animals with a shovel and wheelbarrow figuring there would be less that could go wrong with that rig
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Extended Mirror options?

Based on your want list and the fact it’s not you doing all the driving…
I would fab up a bar that mounts to the roof and at the edge I would set up a pivot point. Then use springs to centre it, so as to allow it to move with out breaking. Leave the factory ones on as a steady view so if the new ones are hard to see though because of vibration you’ll still have something. If it works out I’d throw in some thrust bearings to steady the pivot while making it easier to move. -

I get your idea…it’s something I’d consider…if need be I will design something but I was hoping someone out there had manufactured something that was designed for my exact type of issue to where I could just install it and call it a day….seems like for every job or issue like this I resolve 2 or 3 more come to take its place and my to do list gets longer and I get more and more behind….I need a cloning machine….on the upside these guys give me job security

Don't some of the front loading dumpster tipper garbage trucks use mirrors that fold in while raising the lift?
