Hi Friends,
I did a search on LTL (less-than-a-load) driving but can't seem to get the answers
1. Does LTL involve loading and unloading (in all cases)?
2. Are there any LTL jobs that don't involve unloading freight?
3. LTL involves making Several Drops a day and usually involves "city driving?"
*Can anyone add to that list or give some constructive input on what LTL really involves?
Thanks for your constructive input...!
Explaination of what LTL is ?

1. Depends on the customer. When I was doing LTL, it was about 50/50. Also, it can involve docks, storefronts, ground drops, residential, etc.
2. Any jobs that don't require loading/unloading? Not that I know of... If you don't like hard work, LTL is not for you.
3. In most cases, yes, LTL is multi stop (anything from 2-20 stops, in city, suburban, industrial and rural).
If you're looking to find a labor-free position, it's not in LTL.lagbrosdetmi, Bean Jr., Bob Dobalina and 1 other person Thank this. -

Maybe you get lucky and catch a "turn." This means that instead of running into a terminal, you meet another driver at a particular location. Then exchange trailers and return to your terminal. Invariably, this means that one of you has to wait for the other, who was delayed by one of the above mentioned "unacceptable excuses." Of course, then it makes BOTH of you late.
There are many different types of LTL. Take a look at the post Mike mentioned. Look at the threads under LTL. You should be able to get most of your questions answered.road_runner, tman78, JReding and 1 other person Thank this. -
