Yup, now this is one of our cars. We are back in Florida so it doesn't matter but if this car were to pass into PA again chances are it wouldn't make it more than 30 minutes without getting pulled over and getting two $110 tickets, one for the state safety inspection and one for the emissions. With a truck you only get one sticker because they are emissions exempt due to being over 9k GVWR but same deal except one fine instead of two.

I was leased to a company 14 years ago and they had a safety policy that was crazy. Even though, back then i had to get a Pa inspection every 6 months, they wouldn't recognize that. They wanted 2, yes one every 6 months Federal insp. So my truck was inspected 4 times a year. They paid for the federal inspections. Most states must let the state inspections serve as a Federal, as i have never been hasseled over not having the federal one. Far as proof of inspection for semi ( or any other vehicle) have never had to prove i have a valid inspection. Guess they leave that up to the cops to enforce? For plate renewal just valid insurance ( bobtail) and money order or certified check. Oh and proof of payment for the 1099 tax. Just a side note, i have owned street legal motorcycles since i was old enough to drive. 1972. Never had more than 2 state inspected. That i remember. Now i dont ride alot. Apprx 400 to 600 miles a year. Once probably like 1975 or 76 the guy wouldn't put a sticker on my bike. Pipes didn't go all the way to the rear axle, and were to loud. Now days they run with no mufflers at all, and sometimes short pipes. Rattle all the windows downtown and the cops just look the other way.

I have been pulled over 4 times for not having a bike inspected because I would just forget to do it since I didn't ride them all the time. Anywhere in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Berks county that is all they look for. Most of the local police departments are over staffed and have to prove their worth to keep the payroll up. I dated a girl that was an auditor for the state and she would tell me about how far over budget most of these lil towns were with police payroll so they were ruthless with ticketing for anything. One of the towns actually got in a ton of hot water for writing an absurd amount of 5mph or under speeding tickets lol.

We don't have emission checks in our county...YET. My parents have a old conversion van they take to Fla every winter, 30 years or more. Think its a 1992. They purchased it new in Ohio. Don't think it has ever had a Pa inspection sticker on it. Mayby 1.? Lol.

I still get updates from the state because I have a current EM license and they are actually going to start rolling back emissions in most counties to cars 7 years or older. I'm not sure exactly why as it is a huge source of income.
