Hello all! I’ve been off the road for a while now. I’m not really expecting to go back out there but after all the work I did to obtain my cdl I don’t really want to go through all the work of testing and all that again, so I just meant to keep it indefinitely.
The state of MI finally caught on that My medical card is expired (because I don’t drive).
i don’t want to downgrade to a regular license, as I like keeping my options open, but I also can’t find a DOT physical location anywhere near me that takes my insurance.
Anyone with any experience here? What can I do? Any help would be appreciated!

What do you mean the State found out? I have let my DOT card expire many times over, never an issue. If your not driving just wait to get your physical when you start driving again.

Look at having your license put in exempt status. simple, your not driving so you don’t need medical card.
But you have to go to dmv, forget to read that paper they sent out?
They may have already canceled your license due to that new law, they have like 90 days after med card expired then it fell back to car only.Bean Jr., Diesel Dave and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Don’t know of any insurance that covers dot physicals
12 ga, Rideandrepair and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Failure to do so will result in your CDL being downgraded to a regular license.Last edited: Mar 26, 2022
