Does anyone else out there use Fleetpride for service and repairs? If so how has your experience been? I'd like to hear of some other experiences and opinions before I share mine.

We get parts from them here in Lawrenceville, GA. Good experience at the parts counter.

    Never had service with them.

I've never used them for service, but parts are hit an miss. I had horrible experiences with them in Kansas City, but they're OK in Scranton. For any chain, it seems that the larger the city, the harder it is to keep good help. Most good people will find a better paying job in a larger city. Less populated areas have less competition, so it might be a high paying job for that area.

FleetPride has been sold a few times in the past few years, so they've been very inconsistent on pricing too. The current and previous owners are investment firms. Investment firms tend to strip a company of higher paid experienced people and replace them with lower paid people.

I'm located in Central Nebraska and started using their Hastings location a couple months ago. First had a switch wired in for the tag axle on my grain trailer for a new truck I bought. Well they wired it in wrong and had to take it back. That cost me 2 days of hauling there. They were supposed to do a DOT inspection while it was there and after some repairs a couple weeks ago...that they were supposed to do and didn't and I ended up going to another shop as soon as I picked it up from them ..and we're starting to think they didn't inspect anything and just filled out the paperwork and sticker saying they did. They were also supposed to grease it along with an oil change the first time in and after looking at things I don't think they greased anything. And a few weeks ago the A/C compressor burned so i took it back in and told them to look a few over and fix. After sitting for a week before even touching it they had it in the shop for one day, called and said it was done, and after getting there to pick it up found they did only the A/C and nothing else. I asked they guy about all the other stuff and he just looked at me and asked if I even told him. Funny thing is he wrote it all down the day I dropped it off (my dad standing there as a witness) and yet nothing got done. And one was ended up being a fairly serious problems with the kingpins in the front end being shot (DOT inspection should've caught that) along with a leaking power steering pump gasket and fuel leak. And none of it even got looked at. So reverting back to what I said earlier I ended up leaving there and taking it to another shop where they got me in right away and fixed in a timely manner. So I've basically lost over 2 weeks of hauling because of them. Just ridiculous that a week of it was because it sat that long before they even pulled it in the shop. I get being busy but leaving guys sit that long is unacceptable and obviously they need to find a solution to speed things up. And it doesn't help when they don't even look at 3/4 of what you wanted them to look at and fix. I think we're done with them.

Sounds pretty typical really for any shop. At least they didn't invent work some shops have a gold mine ripping people off on make work.

I had an account with them. Store I used was in Greensboro , NC. Finally closed the account because of stupid mistakes on orders and general dumbassery. The whole place just gave me the wrong vibe. Even the mid level managers seem to talk the talk , but not be able to follow thru on much of anything. I really believe it to be more of an indictment of the nation's work ethic , than a company policy. People make the difference.
