experience with class B, good for class A?

Hi, I wanted to ask a couple of questions. I have been really wanting a driving job for a while. However, I'm in college so that deeply limits my options even though everyday I'm off after noon except on mondays and during weekends I am available. I decided to go for an on campus bus driver position that I got hired for as it gives good availability and it actually sounds like it operates much like the trucking industry with having to pick up jobs, like charters, cleaning and being parking lot attendants and that. You get a guaranteed 12 hours of driving but the rest up to 39, you have to pick up on your own.

I wanted to ask though while it is driving a bus with a class B license, would it improve my prospects when I go for a Class A job after I graduate from college and go to school for the Class A or should I really look at getting a class A job elsewhere instead?

    Thanks,
    ~Natalie

Class B won't count towards a class A. It might help having CMV experience though. What are you majoring in?

I know the license wouldn't count towards class A even though the written tests are the exact same. Minus the combination and doubles and triples tests. The driving test has to be taken in a vehicle similar to what you will be driving. I hope it helps with CMV experience though since they are about the biggest non bendy buses you can find, with air brakes of course.

I'm majoring in Agricultural Economics. I changed schools back to A&M since my introduction thread and have decided to stick through and get my degree.
