I put a deposit on one there last fall, but couldn't get decent financing so I canceled the sale. They were very good to deal with.
They took the truck in trade,I put a deposit on it.They sent it through the shop for services which took a few weeks,They returned the deposit quickly, had many other buyers waiting for trucks at the time.LRod Thanks this. -
Here is my experience so far, I called asking about the advertised Peterbilt. From the beginning of the phone conversation
I felt like the salesman was not too interested in trying to sell me the truck ( I suppose they get a million tire kicker calls a day )
Anyway I explained I was a cash buyer and would not need financing. The truck mostly fit my needs and was very low mile
so I asked about making an offer, he replied we got an offer yesterday $900.00 below asking price and turned it down....nine hundred....smelled like BS
to me...but hey who knows. I then asked about putting a deposit on the truck to hold it pending an in person inspection and was told all deposits are
NON refundable. WOW has Truck buying changed this much since my last purchase ? or is this guy giving me the run around ? or do they just
want customers they can finance ( I'm sure they make their hay there ) I may go ahead and just submit an offer.....if they turn it down Ill just move on and keep looking elsewhere. I just cant get past the here is the price buy it or don't no skin off my back impression I get.James j Thanks this. -
Can’t speak about the Paccar Financial locations, but in 2019 when I was looking to buy a truck again and get back in it I had places that wouldn’t deal with me because I didn’t need their financing. MHC in Joplin finally told me the new W9 I wanted was gone when I told them for the third time I didn’t need them to email me a credit app. So I had my brother call about the truck I wanted and it was still there, they said they needed his email to send out a credit app to get the ball rolling. So you’re likely meeting some resistance from them because you’re taking away their ability to make east money on the financing end.
Siinman, RedForeman and LRod Thank this. -

I saw a listing on TruckPaper.com, the listing indicated Paccar Financial in Manooka IL, for a listing of a Peterbilt Truck. I went there and saw many trucks in nice shape, and after looking at a number of trucks, some of them had Dashboard errors some did not I selected one to buy. The sales group was helpful and kind, but not really skilled in the sale to Owner Operators / Independent Truckers, they usually only handle fleet account Sales and Returns.
I did finally put money down on one of their trucks, Since I have very good credit, I was approved for financing by PACCAR. At this point, I'm waiting for the truck to be ready.
The truck readiness was slightly delayed because Paccar Perterbilt is making sure the truck I bought meets DOT requirements and they have also replaced a number of parts at their expense. Overall I found Paccar Perterbilt to be helpful and Honest, B+ Experience.
(UPDATE, Truck will be ready on 04/11/2025 )Last edited: Apr 10, 2025
Reason for edit: Truck Readiness update -
What are they charging YOU for interest ?

They are charging me 10 OR 11% I cant remember, on a 2020 Peterbilt 579 10 Speed Manual, Day Cab, I put half $ down $20,000 , After negotiating down to $41,500. Payment is 1,000 a month, Im getting back into trucking since I was forced to retire from my engineering Job, I always kept up my CDL and Medical. I am already leased to a trucking company just to do crosstown Inter-modal in Chicago and short regional. But still waiting on Paccar Peterbilt for the truck to be ready ( Update, truck will be ready on 04/11/2025 ).
