Okay, kind of a long story and a little complicated but bear with me. I have read statements in here before about Expedited Freight Systems (EFS) but this is my first time. I am writting this as not only an ex driver but also as an ex manager as well. I worked for EFS for 2 1/2 years and saw alot. Just recently, EFS was bought out by Roadrunner. This proved to be something that made a bad company worse. Especially since EFS promoted a worthless man named Clinton to a higher position when his most common response to company concerns referring to Roadrunner were, "I don't care". What? His position was one to care about all aspects but when you put a wet behind the ears little boy in charge, what do you expect? I was a driver /manager for them. When Roadrunner bought us out, the freight heavily increased to where the terminals couldn't handle the freight and they hired extra drivers. Well, the freight came in all messed up and wrongfully packed in the trailers, I contacted another worthless guy named Ryan from Roadrunner about freight and trailer conditions. After attempting to what I could to make things work and trying to assist the different terminals, I received no help or assistance from headquarters at EFS or Roadrunner. I then decided to step down as manager and become just a driver again. I even assisted them in finding a new manager. I was informed by another manager, "you know they are going to mess with you". well, yes but how much? They had me do double runs from Lansing to South Bend and back twice. Okay, yes, had to drive and not stop for anything but oh well, better than being a manager for them. I never even stopped to go to the bathroom, even though they took 30 minutes lunch out of us everyday. Dispite the harrassment and games from Clitonia and Ryaness, I remained loyal to the job. Then I was informed that Roadrunner was going to start new terminals in Lansing and South Bend which would cause some of the EFS employees to be laid off. I cared about the other drivers so I sent an e-mail to this Ryan at Roadrunner asking him, if they start these new terminals, how could the laid off drivers easily apply/transfer directly to Roadrunner since they bought us out? Well, Clintonia got ahold of the e-mail (so) and turned it around. He made it look like I was trying to work against the company and try to get drivers to leave EFS. Well, duh, just a week before, I posted help wanted signs in my home town and got a guy hired for EFS, there goes that idea Clintonia. Anyways, I got back from my run and was called into the office in Lansing where I was handed a termination letter for sending that e-mail to Roadrunner asking about laid off workers transferring. OMG if that isn't proof that EFS and Roadrunner are worthless and untrustworthy, than what is? I cared about other people and did what was right when I knew they would be laid off. I let a secret out I guess. The two guys, Clinton and Ryan, I wouldn't trust them with a dime or go to them for the simplest answers. In my grandest opinion, to improve EFS and Roadrunner, change all managers and care about your drivers. Please do not try to hire into EFS because of the wrongs there as well they may not be around long anyways. Roadrunner, well, they look for Independant Carriers to do their runs but, they do it in the cheapest way possible and do the best they can to insure they don't pay for any empty miles, even if it is unavoidable empty miles. Get involved with Roadrunner if you want to count every penny and deal with people like this Ryan. I am looking for a good and fair company to work for and be the best I can be for them as long as they do in fact, treat me fair. Best wishes everyone for any job searches or careers paths.

Follow up, well, went on unemployment while looking for a new job since Expedited Freight Systems WRONGFULLY Terminated me. The company tried to fight it but the State Of Michigan saw it as it is. 100% wrongful termination. It is obvious that the main reason I was fired was because this Clinton knew he was in no way as good of a manager as I am and was embarrassed by this. Once again, DO NOT go to work for Expedited Freight Systms because after working there, they will find a way to let you go to save money and they will also do they're best to ruin your record. It didn't work with me but has worked against others.

EFS was a great company back in the day, I never called in once, never had a problem, I had a dedicated run, rarely dealt with the office and after 10 years they spit in my face, ended my run, laid me off, in fact everyone got spit on, nasty management, there are a few that weathered the storm, Danny Kepple the last safety guy was sheer hell on all, he was proud to have fought for our country only to come back and terrorize americans. He really enjoyed firing people and keeping everyone on egg shells. Watch out Mich. I heard he moved over there. Keep an eye out for that Sunday sitting hipocrite!

I put in an application with these guys and was hired within a day. Fist red flag: They didn't call my present job or any job on my application. 2nd red flag: they changed my route from a 10 hour a day run to 14 hours a day before my orientation. 3rd red flag: They tried to cancel my orientation and put me in a truck that night( no road test). 4th red flag: I had just worked 5 days with my previous job and had no hours available. They were angry that I would not work that night with no sleep, no available legal hours and work a 14 hour day. This is all before I even started to work for them. You should have heard the conversation when I told them I would just keep the job I have. I've got a great boss at my present job that kept the door open until I was sure this job would work out. You would think that $18.87 an hour, Sunday evening to Thursday evening, weekends off would be a dream job but, if it sounds too good to be true................

I was just notified yesterday that our Detroit terminal is closing and today is our last day. No advance heads up just out the door. These guys are a joke and I wish I had never started working here.
