Been reading alot amd just curious as to what yall think. Have a paccar mx 13 with certain parts fell off. My exhaust back pressure valve behind turbo is bad and ive ran it with it wired in open position with no noticeable issues. Everything i read leads me to believe back pressure behind turbo is absolutely not needed even on a newer emissions engine. Any thought?? Thanks in advance and happy trucking

The EBP valve on an MX is used for regeneration only to create back pressure which in turn creates heat to maintain and build exhaust temps. It serves no other purpose. Since your DPF fell off.......you dont need it. The BPV valve is needed on any MX engine still meeting emissions compliance.
ISX uses VGT for back pressure. MX uses the same VGT but only uses the VGT for boost control, not regeneration. MX has a much lower VGT failure rate due to the lower duty cycle. Plus the EGR coolers dont leak coolant and hang up the sliding nozzle ring.Lookunderthetruck, 650cat425, A5¢ and 4 others Thank this. -

Does anyone know how much back pressure a MX13 can handle?
