    Hi all,

I work for a company that makes various components for trucks. One thing I've noticed is that there is a lack of opportunities for truckers to exercise. My company is currently looking for ways to innovate in the trucking industry. I figured there may be an opportunity to design exercise equipment that could go on the inside or outside of the truck.

For example, one idea I had was adding a pull-up bar to the outside of the truck. Another idea was to place an exercise bike in the rear part of the cab.

If this equipment was made available to truckers would any of of you use it?

Also, do any of you have ideas for exercise equipment that you would like to use?

Keep me posted, maybe a situp bench that hooks to the bunk?

I always used resistance bands, but lacked the ability to do cardio. I would have liked some type of collapsing exercise bike that could easily stow under the bunk.

    KriegHund and dngrous_dime Thank this.

Freightliner Cascadia with full top sleeper and equipped with dual bunks is the most numerous truck out there. Rent one for a few days and let your imagination run wild.

Just remember lots of drivers spend a good deal of time in snow-covered, cold environment during winter months so inside means to get heart rate up for 15 minutes (cardio) would be great. I'd also consult with a professional trainer and/or physical therapist.

I do local work so this is not a quandary for me, but if I were OTR, I would have a jump rope along for cardio, a dumb bell set and resistance bands for strength and flexibility. An incline/decline bench would be a nice bonus.

Where do you think a bench would fit best? Maybe something collapsible so that it can be stored?

Definitely collapsible. 48" long and 16" wide, like a small ironing board. It could stay on the bunk when driving, or under it perhaps, when not in use.
