Hey I ain't arguing with you. Big machines should be hauled on the right equipment for the corresponding price. This machine I think could go either way. And again that's why I'm asking your opinions. As well I am going to call trailer manufacturer Monday morning.
And I'm not out here trying to steal your loads. I've hauled all of 1 or 2 paying loads in the last 3 years. Truck and trailer are for personal business use. But yes I am commercially licensed, ifta, million dollar liability.
So if some Good Paying loads come my way I take them. And this will be the case with this. Couple stainless tanks going down deadhead 10 miles load excavator go right back home. Great rate both ways. Good rate going down even if I choose to not bring excavator back I'll just bounce home and still be happy.
So don't get your panties in a twist thinking I'm gonna haul it for 3$ a mile

Was not aiming the rate part at you.
There are other people hauling things for nothing.
I do understand your concern and questions about being able to move it or not on the equipment you have.
That is good. You are asking questions and not just doing it and then cry about breaking your stuff.
I just am getting tired of seeing people moving stuff on the wrong setups and running for their regular rate.
I saw a big dump trk. earlier this year on a step deck. Tires half off the deck and about 15' high.
Trl.sagging real bad. I just shook my head.
I also see people with wore out lowboys adding axles and jeeps to them and bragg, I'm a heavy hauler now. Yea wait untill you break that 35 ton deck when you has 80 k sitting on it.lester Thanks this. -
Where about it NW Iowa are you at? I am over in Sioux County.

We have hauled 47K lb excavators on step decks on a regular basis. We run late model equipment kept in good condition. We have had no issue with the outside rail supporting the weight. The machines are 10.5 wide with 50% of the track on the trailer and the rest off. We run 48' trailer with the rear axle all the way back. We also only load/unload from a dock. Never load/unload to something lower than your trailer. If you do, you are putting the entire weight of the excavator on the rear 6 inches of your trailer just before it tips. That is when you will get in trouble.

throwing on beacon lights, riding around empty with their oversized banners on, no height stick, 4 point securement on a 74k escavator, taking shortcuts to bootlegging loads, no outriggers, no permits, off route, etc....
...then they see you in the truckstop and want to rub elbows with you and can't figure out why you don't want to associate with them. "I do what you do, why are you being such an a-hole to me?"
They brag about their loads and their makeshift equipment and the money they make until they find out that you do a hundred grand more than they do and you were rolling legal.Guntoter and passingthru69 Thank this. -
Funny thing is, I got a good friend of mine that just lded. a 48k exc. on his step deck.
He has dunnage under the main frame to carry weight on his inner rails.
The blockiing is running the full length and he still is worrying some. The outer rails have some sag not much.
He said this is the first and last time he will haul it.
He asked about me coming and get it, but said you won't do it for the rate I booked it for though will you..
I said no.This is a direct customer he has. -
I wouldn't recommend it, agree with posts, let those RGN guys take the wide tracked equipment...

No worries I'm not hauling it anyway. Long story and I know they didn't like my bid. Dealers gonna haul it on their dime
