Do a search for OTR reviews for company X and you will almost every time get a very long list with common phrases like: worst company ever, liars, thief's, etc, then go to youtube and search for the same company and most of them have one or two people that seem like they have found the best trucking company on the planet. They make great money, lots of home time, new trucks, etc. BOTH sides are talking about the same company... How is this possible? why is it so hard to get a honest evaluation of a specific company without actually rolling the dice and going to work for them. You would think at some point the good companies would have a surplus of drivers and the bad companies would go out of business but for some reason this does not seem to happen. I see one channel on Youtube that does nothing but show videos of trucks that have been in an accident and one major company is in the videos virtually every time but they stay in business. HOW?. I guess what I am trying to say is why the F is it so hard to get the truth on which are the better companies and which ones to just flat out avoid. I avoided mentioning any specific names because I did not want to turn this into a thread to bash certain companies.

Most people that are happy don't leave online reviews. So you get the people that are pissed at the company. But people that are making YouTube videos are trying to make money. Either threw views, referral bonuses or both. They sugar coat what's going on for profit.

    To each their own.
What's trash to you may be good for me.
Plenty of people bash trash and smash the company I work for, even comparing is to that best in crash company.
That's fine, clown all you want.
    Here's my take.
My TM and ops managers are rock solid.
They run me hard, but don't try to kill me for a buck.
When I say whoa, and need a shorter day to keep myself going, it's not an issue. Ever.
Need to swap a day to attend an appointment, or do something with family? No problem, if there's coverage.
Broke something on my truck? No problem... Get with the shop, get the parts ordered, we'll swap out soon as they arrive.
Quick fix? Swing by between loads, mechs will fix it quick, abs you'll be back rolling in no time.
Pay? I make about 15% less than top paid guys in the same industry.
    That's a chunk of change.
However, the sum of all the rest of what I have that they don't is worth more to me than the dollars.
They complain about dispatch. They complain about managers.
    They whine about loads.
    I don't have that problem.
I know that, if I have a crap schedule today, I'll have a gravy one tomorrow.
Dispatch needs a load to go late in the day to prevent a runout? I'm on it.
That store needs a splash to bridge them to when night shift can hit them? No problem. What they need, how much, and what else can we throw on the bus to fill it out.
Freakshow load? 2 racks, 3 stores, 5 products?
Give it here... I got it.
It'll be followed with a really good money gravy load... I guarantee.
    Why?
    I don't complain.
    I don't whine.
I run hard because I love what I do.
My coworkers are friends and teammates.
We're all here for the same reason.
We all want to win, and we want the team to win.
Our management protects us from a lot of the corporate garbage that comes down. They filter out what is important and what isn't, and only give the important stuff.
I've listened to my TM go to bat for a driver.
You'd have thought he was a trucking lawyer on steroids.
    Long story, I know.
But these white elephants do exist, and it takes dedication to find them.
It also takes investment in your part to build it that way.
Develop relationships with your key players, listen and learn.

Alot, not all, of the bad reviews are posted by the "whiners," the type that will just be miserable no matter what they do or who they work for. My theory about alot of truck drivers is they sit behind the wheel for too long just thinking over and over about everything that bugs them and they turn into drama queens. The ones that keep their head down and get after it are the ones that make good money and you will never hear from.

I think i know the channel you are talking about, probably Swift you are hinting at. The problem there is they are one of the biggest companies and they are heavily into to CDL mill type program. Rookie drivers are inevitably more likely to tear stuff up, its just a meat grinder. A bunch just dont have what it takes and wash out before a couple years in the industry, plenty of others do well and stay with the original company or more likely move on to a smaller fleet that noone pays attention to.

Companies with ultra high turnover, there’s a reason for it.

95% of trucking companies respect the driver as much as they respect used toilet paper.

Many truck drivers undervalue their own dignity and many of the comments on these boards reflect the lack of dignity and respect most Truck drivers have for themselves and their fellow drivers.
