Over 2 years ago I bought 8 Kapsen Drives 16ply for $1800 cash Out the door installed. Mexican tire shop in Orlando just threw a bag of balancing beads in each one. They still have half their tread and the truck mainly runs in Florida. All wearing evenly. When they hit low I’ll have them regrooved and get another year out of them. I’ve ran Chinese tires since 2016. Even on the steers. Never had a problem with them but it does boil down to brand. I swear by Kapsen.

Currently have 150,000 miles on a set I’ve been running. Will probably get 200,000 out of them. They are wearing even. They just aren’t going to last as long as a quality tire. Weirdest thing about them is 14ply tire and the sidewall say “123 psi max”
ETA: One thing that bothered me when they arrived was that it said Longmarch on the sidewall. I’ve had horrible experiences with Longmarch brand tires. (sidewall cracking on 6month old tires)
    Mine are holding up fine.

I paid $2200 @ simpletire.com for 8 of them and had to pick them up at a Fedex terminal

I just went to that site. For a premium Firestone 591 tire, they want way over 500 for one. My tire guy can get them for about 350. I guess if your into inexpensive tires that don’t last, more power to you. I don’t mind paying extra to get my money’s worth. But that’s me.

It does me no good to get more than two winters out of a set of drives because I run I70 in Colorado. Best tire I’ve ever had was Michelin XLine energy D but going into the third winter, traction was a serious issue even though there was a years worth of tread on them. I’ve thought about running a winter set and a summer set but winter lasts 9 months for me. I’ve chained as early as Sept 23 and as late as May 17.

BTW I just got home from the cabin and looked at the sidewall. They’re 16 ply not 14

The problem with them up here is, the rubber gets too hard in cold weather, and then the recappers claim that chinese tires do not cap well at all, so they don't want to give much if anything at all for the casings.
I ran one set of chinese tires on my drives down south, iirc they were gt 380, no other name on them. They actually lasted pretty well.

Major brands on the truck and air ride trailers but I’ll put cheap tires on my spring ride pups, they only weigh 7000 pounds empty and do nothing but bounce
