Yup. Missed the entire top step and hit the dirt hard. Fell off the frame at the back while greasing the log bunk once. Slipped off a wet steer tire while topping off coolant. That one resulted in a sprained ankle though. I'm better coordinated now that I'm out of my teens lol.

I've had a few mid-steps in the latter half of my driving experience. But I vaguely recall a fall of sorts early on.

And also has been a mis-step or two exiting a trailer. But bionic technology is pretty tough.

Ever "hop down" out of the back of a trailer in the dark and the ground height in the grass isn't where you're conditioned to think it is? (Forgot about that extra foot of ground taper you had to deal with getting in)

Doors were opened and trailer was slotted in between two trailers so I couldn't close one door as a hand-hold support.

Tip. It's hard on the shoulder, too.

It's about a 4' drop. 2 years ago it happened to me for being on the phone. Landed on my left knee. Had to drive like a one legged pirate.

No, but a friend was exiting a trailer (without any grab handles)...after transferring his weight to the leg on the ICC bumper, it slipped past the bumper (to the inside), and he landed flat on his butt on the ground. After 3 back surgeries, a staff infection (from one of the surgeries) and 6 months of rehab, he made it back to work. I learned from his pain...

I think I've come very close to doing about that same thing but managed somehow to hold on and prevent a serious incident. I think snow/ice was a factor iirc.

Those hand-holds on the left door of trailers should be mandatory for all.
