Epes Transport 11.10.11

Passed CDL test yesterday, graduated course today. Start orientation at Epes Transportation on Sunday, 11.13.11. Everyone I have worked with at Epes getting paperwork ready have been great. I hope this is a good sign about their company reputation. Any Epes drivers comments, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Got to be in Greensboro, NC on Sunday, Epes road test at 130pm and DOT physical / drug test after that. Hopefully in a trainers truck before the end of next week....

 

Thanks. Don't know who they are sending but if it is Bobby Joyce he is a really nice guy. I think he is the safety director at Epes (he was scheduled to come to our school). You should also look for posts on here from sdaniel. He is a driver / trainer with Epes and knows alot of people at Epes. He, too, is a very nice guy and will help you anyway he can.

Arrived in Greensboro,NC today. Passed pre-trip and road test / backing test and another physical / drug test. Epes has really nice equipment. I tested in one of their "old" trucks, a 2010 Freightliner. Two days at main terminal doing paperwork and such then it will be either a local trainer or an otr trainer if one is available. Either way I am supposed to be in a trainers truck before the end of the week.
Everyone I have met up here, hotel clerks, doctors office employees, cashiers at Arbys etc. all give EPES great reports about how they treat their drivers and employees.

 

I'm fresh out of school. A six week wonder i guess you could say. lol Just graduated last Thursday.

 

Orientation started with me and two other guys. By 1030 it was just me. Apparently the company meant it when they said they would run a background check and talk to previous employers. Everyone I met today was super nice. Almost ran out of ink in a brand new pen signing papers and filling out forms. The more I hear about this company the better I am feeling. Not that I doubted my choice to start with. This is an outstanding company and really cares about its employees and drivers.
Ready to get the wheels turning and the income flowing again....
