I have a CDL Class A, going to get my tankers and hazmat soon. I left a bridge construction company 3 months ago where I drove a flatbed hauling steel out of Texas to NW Arkansas, and drove a dump truck and did just about anything else construction related, the bridge company was not getting contracts and work was slow was the only reason I left. Prior to the construction job I drove over the road for a US mail contractor for 5 years.

Clean record, no tickets or accidents. I have a "whatever it takes to get the job done attitude" and references from former employers to back that statement up. 3 Honorable Discharges from 2 branches of the military. For the last 3 months I have been driving for a company hauling live poultry, just got in from my 13 hour night shift and grossed just over $100.00 for my nights work. No overtime, we are paid by the load and the miles. 2 loads and 200 Ozark Mountain Miles in 13 hours does not add up to much of a pay check The guys loading the birds are better paid than the drivers. I was promised the moon when I went to work hauling poultry but after 3 months with them I am ready to move on as the money is not there. I grew up on a farm and have a life time (I am 57 but very fit physically) of experience operating equipment in civilian and the military in addition to my CDL.

I just replied to an ad on Craigslist looking for oil field help in the Fairview/Enid Ok area, the company I talked with is Mile High Solutions out of Colorado, the lady said they are hiring for a major oil company in the Enid area. I am in NW Arkansas so the Enid area is about a 5 hour drive for me. The person I talked with said 2 weeks on and then a break of several days. She sounded very interested in me after a short phone conversation. I was thinking they might want money from me but she said no, the company they recruit for pay them.

My question is I have read on this forum there have been lots of layoffs in the Enid area. I searched past posts on work in the area, most of the posts were about a year old and indicated low demand for drivers/workers. Has any one had experience with Mile High Solutions or know of the job situation in the Enid area? Any information on jobs in the Enid area appreciated. Sorry for the long post,I just think I have a lot to offer and could use a little help and advice. I did a search on them but nothing came up. I do plan on driving over to the Enid area as soon as the Thanksgiving Poultry hauling frenzy eases and I get a day off.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rick

With your driving experience you should have no problem getting a driving job in any oilpatch in the US on your own! Did the ad have an oilfield pic with pumpjacks or production tanks or an oilfield truck with the company name photoshopped out ? That so called employment agency has gone by the name Mile High Employment, Mile High Energy Solutions etc. Do some research with the BBB. They are known to advertise jobs they don't even have but once you sign a contract you are required to take any job or they sue you for the employment fee! We aren't allowed to post phone numbers in this part of the forum but were the last four numbers 5280?
There are legitimate staffing agencies that oilfield companies use but this isn't one! As an example Schlumberger uses SOS employment for their new employees--you can even find some posts about this in the oilfield forum.

I think it was Diamond Services out of Woodward that was advertising for truck drivers right now on the radio.

Try the Enid and Woodward Newspaper classifieds.

You also might try Rau trucking out of Lohoma, Ok(I think). They stay busy.

Choate Trucking out of Hennessy, Ok

AA out of Yukon I think.

You have a tanker company in Enid, OK, Cryogenic Transportation, they haul Liquid CO2, mostly local, some layovers is what I have been told. The phone number is580-237-5022, the terminal manager's name is Cammie. Good luck.

What company are you referring to? Cryogenics hauls liquides, not chickens.
