Can anyone who has experience with the England Logistics Fuel Program enlighten me?

They have been particularly aggressive in pursuing us to get on board with their program...which probably means it benefits them more than us, but I'm open to hear about it from the TTR membership.

I was more leaning towards trying the NASTC fuel program. Seems like a better chance at saving money from what I've researched so far.

    Thanks in advance!

I've got the NASTC fuel card and I'm pretty satisfied with it, probably the best discount fuel card out there right now. Be interesting for you to see if CRE will give you all or most of the markup or keep most of it for themselves. If they're that aggressive then why give them the control. Take a look at NASTC. It's a really good deal.
    Good luck

We use England and for the most part are happy. The card is EFS and that is the main thing. But being larger we have different needs than the independent O/O. We used NATSC for a short period and the worst part was the card they use. Had to be one of the worse companies, period. Not just in trucking, worst company operating on this planet.

So if you can deal with the card then you have to be a person that watches the price changes. We saw that one day a fuel stop would have a $.30 discount and the next nothing. Won't claim to be an expert on how fuel prices are set but that seemed odd based on how the program is presented.

The couple drivers that really watch where they fueled did OK. But over all we ended up with about the same savings with England as NATSC. But again, if you watch an plan I know independents that do really well.

Other good program if you run a lot with LS is what they have. But you also have to watch the rates at different stops. But they don't change as fast as NATSC.

Hhmmmmm sounds like a slight exaggeration that Nastc is the worst company on the planet, or should we say Fleetone if you want to be accurate. So what you're implying is that I'm a real sucker for going for this fuel card, despite the fact there's not a fuel card out there to touch contrary to your assumptions. I've done my shopping, believe it or not.
At least I wasn't suckered into taking on the CRE lease program, and yes, you may have different NEEDS to an O/O but with the CRE program you'll NEED all the help you can get. I used to work with CRE as a rookie in the late 90s but soon got outta Dodge the minute I paid off their driving school loan. I understand their game.
As for the fuel prices and corresponding discounts, the price at the pump may not change but the wholesale price will. That's out of NASTCs hands. I used to haul fuel, so perhaps I know more about it than most. Therefore the discount can change, no doubt about that. They report to me everyday what's going on with the prices. You may well get no discount at some stops but that is either a stop that is not on the preferred list or the fuel is so darn cheap in the first place, that a discount is not needed. Hence one of my favorite fuel stops in Louisiana is cheaper in that area by about 30c gal, so who cares if I don't get a discount.
Mormonism is just another name for Christianity but with a bigger profit margin. Good luck, you're gonna NEED it !!

Fleet One is the card I am talking about. And not the worst fuel card company THE WORST COMPANY PERIOD.

Both Comdata and EFS are decent companies and at least act like they care.

As far as NATSC. Really no complaints about them. Biggest issues and not really sure it is NATSC is it seems the fuel discount at some locations changes very drasticly from day to day. Under LS program that is similar to NATSC (a cost plus) you never saw the huge swings.

As far as how the EFS programs works, we have had zero issues. Actually, since we have used them and watched it grow we have seen them add almost 24/7 support (5 am to 7 am they have a gap). This is something no one else has that I am aware of.

Since you know something about wholesale prices, have you ever seen a $.30/gal swing in a single day when nothing abnormal was happening?

If they are changing the price on you during the day something is wrong. I use EFS(old TCH)and run my own discounts. Cost+ with a range of .12-.42 off when billed. The price is good from 0001 to 2400. Get a price the afternoon before for the next day.

Do you see big swings at the same place from day to day? So today you are getting a .40 discount and tomorrow it is .12? We saw that with NATSC. That seemed very odd considering at the time we didn't see big changes in the oil or any issues being reported in the supply chain.

Depends what they bought it for 30-60-90 or more days ago. If you run the same lanes pre-buy can get huge discounts. I have some as much as .51. Of course if the price drops so does your discount. You should be able to get better discounts than Englands card on your own. Those are easy money makers for them. If we give an outside carrier one of ours they get a fixed per gallon and we get a better pricing on ours.
