Empty and trailer tire blown ..Ok to drive?

    empty..53ft..have double axle..last load..going home 150 miles away. inside tire blown passenger side on trailer...drive to yard or get serviced

    I would cut the tire off so it's not on the rim. They can flail around and rip a hole in an airbag.

    It's legal to do if you take the tire off.

    if it's just flat, should be OK. If it's partial shredded it will continue to shred and be a problem

    Are you loaded? If so is it a heavy load? If your empty run it to the yard. Technically it is illegal to run with a flat. DOT could bang for for it.

    Any scales on the way home? If not, as long as I wasn't placarded, I would probably chance it. I wouldn't want to get stuck waiting to get it fixed, then run out of hours before I could get home.
