Elite Truck School in Hillsboro, Oregon

I just wanted to give a heads up about a truck school I just graduated from. I have seen so much negative stuff about so many different schools I thought I would post my positive experience about Elite Truck School in Hillsboro, Oregon. It was really hard to choose which school to go to but I am really glad at the decision I made.

I think the best part of the school itself is the instructors. There were 4 instructors Mike, Jim, Paulie, and Jason, all were great. I worked 95% with Mike and Jim. Maybe double check with the school if you sign up to make sure they are still there because they made the whole experience amazing. I worked mostly driving with Mike (The head instructor) and mostly backing with Jim. Mike sorta sets the tone for the class in a very friendly joking way but gets serious when its time to learn. Jim is someone I really respect. He is 70 years old, (looks 50) and has been driving trucks since he was 25, so he has a wealth of knowledge about the industry. He was an owner operator for a long time and just loves the truck business. I got the feeling he didn't need to be there for money, he just loves trucking. Both guys were really patient with me and made the class a lot of fun. If you listen to them you will learn a lot.

I was really nervous about having ZERO experience leading up to the class. I can hardly check the oil in my car and never changed a flat tire in my life. Good thing was that didn’t matter to much, we were educated on how to pre-trip our truck and what to check for to make sure the truck is safely operational.

After 4 weeks in the class I left feeling confident that I could safely operate one of these things in the real world. Man looking back, the very first day I drove one of these things it was intense and I came a long way in a short time. I would recommend this school to a friend or family member.
