Some times when I hit a bump in the road, all the dash lights come on and the gauges cycle like I just turned the key off and back on, the radio with cut off and back on, and the head lights do the same. My CB radio doesn’t cut off and neither does 12v plus. When this happens, it literally is like a half second. It doesn’t stay off it’s like you just turned the key off and back on. The engine doesn’t die. The only code I got is low fuel pressure but I’m think it’s because it lost power. It’s annoying and I’ve tried grabbing and pulling all the wires everywhere, checked the power to the firewall, checked all my small cables on the batteries, wiggled all the ECM wires, I’m just stumped at this point and need a little guidance on where I should begin.

    Thanks in advance

Even though you checked “ everything” I’m still lead to believe that you have a loose ground or power wire somewhere.

Only time I’ve had that issue is when a battery wire would get loose and hit a decent sized bump gauges reset etc.

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

That’s the same thing I was thinking but it’s not killing the CB so it’s leading me to something not battery related. This morning I did find a bare spot on a wire in the harness that goes over the top of the engine and down by the AC compressor. Idk what wires run through there but I fixed that wire and haven’t had the issue yet again but I was moving the harness. Could’ve been somewhere else and I moved it. Going to run it a few hours we will see what it does. I appreciate your input though it all helps

I guess when I get home I’ll thoroughly go over every power source I can find.

Grounds, grounds, grounds with Volvo lol.

run a new heavy ground cable from the batteries up to a ground lug on the firewall and see if that helps.... It's super easy and inexpensive and one item to rule out.

If not, next item I'd change is key switch most likely....

    Hope it helps you

I had a '06 Volvo that did this, but when it did, the engine would stumble. Same as turning the key off on back on. Turn out to be a defective instrument cluster. I swapped one from a friends truck and problem went away. I purchased a used on off eBay and no more problems. But odometer reading was what was on the replacement cluster.

Instrument cluster- does the cluster show any other issues? Like does it flicker for no reason at idle? At different when the truck is cold or hot. Wondering if contacts or maybe cold solder joint issue. Anyone got any ideas?
