    1. The 150 air mile rule - this only applies if you constantly operate within it, if you don’t turn you need to use ELD even inside this radius?

    2. I operate a ram 3500 (IRP tag, CDL) and use this to go run some errands, do truck maintenance, buy supplies sand equipment, do I need to log in and run the ELD?
If so, do I run it on personal?

    3. The 30 min break, use “off duty”?

    4. If coming to the end of 11hr driving time, can I use personal to make it to a sleeping place? This won’t impact my 11 hrs but will still count towards the 14?

    1. Mostly correct. If you go outside that radius 8 days in any 30 day period you have to use an eld on the days you know you will be outside it. And it's as soon as you know you will be outside it, not at the 150 mile mark.
    2. Anything work related, so maintenance, work supplies, etc is on duty time.
    3. Sure, on duty works too. Just need to reset that 8 hour counter.
    4. No. Lack of planning is not a reason to use personal conveyance. If you get kicked out of your last appointment you can pc to the nearest safe location. Note, it's nearest safe location and not nearest hotel. It also means you can be going in your intended opposite direction.

Also you might want to get the green book and read parts 393 and 395 (and the rest if it) before you get put oos for not knowing the regulations.

    Truly appreciate your input!

Reason I mentioned hotel is because I don’t think I’m allowed to sleep in my truck, it’s not a sleeper. I also don’t think I could pull over and just sleep anywhere( nearest safe location). But as you stated, planning will take care of this.

more on question 2. If I’m driving for any motive not while working or pertaining to my actual job, or during a scheduled work day per day, it’s personal correct? Especially if I’m bobtailing?

Where can I get this green book, what’s it called?
Appreciate the pointer. I’ll get on it.
Edit - just ordered it. Thanks.

You are allowed to sleep in the truck, it's just off duty status and not sleeper.
In a nutshell if it benefits the company it's on duty, if it's for your benefit (like groceries, movie, restaurant, etc.) it can be pc. Here is the guidance on pc.
