Anyone else locked out of all their brokers because their eld doesn't offer live tracking?
I can't get a load with anyone today who is affiliated with Highway because of their new rule.
My ELD provider is telling me I have to pay hundreds for a premium subscription.
Anyone dealing with this?

Yep, same here, I run older ELD exempt trucks and had few brokers deny me today, because I do not have ELD connected . They started to do this Friday night

Nothing like highway selling your info and brokers selecting them cause highway is cheaper. The case of a hack they can affect all ELD connected. Talk about infrastructure vulnerability. We have elected not too connect our ELD to highway.
Rugerfan, Meonthenet, JimmyTwoTimes and 8 others Thank this. -
We don't connect our ELD to anyone but our customers that want it. That requires the driver to send the tracking to them at PU and stop
at del. Their access is limited to the PU/Del times in our TMS and only show the driving hours available and current location.
Haven't had a problem with brokers that use Highway, but that may be because of 26 years in business.
They've required Macropoint which is fine.JimmyTwoTimes, The_vett, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Some brokers are moving away from RMIS and to highway due to cost. There not making enough on the cheap freight……Add the tracking for highway to sell your info.., they save some money.

It reminds me of that famous song (Highway)to Hell !!
When they say highway, we move on. too many problems and too much vulnerability..Meonthenet, HighWayMan501, broke down plumber and 5 others Thank this. -

What is stopping a broker, or Highway, from tracking you when you're not currently moving their freight? For all of the non solicitation and lack of transparency that brokers use as tools to protect their business interests, they sure don't seem to care if the carrier's operations are exposed.
Nobody should ever ask you for admin username and password for any of your accounts. If all they want is tracking, they can use guest credentials that will only give them tracking permission when it's appropriate. The brokers I worked for that used Highway to get set up were still using Macropoint to track their loads. There are better ways to verify if a carrier is legitimate than asking them to expose themselves to risk of exploitation and fraud. Even if Highway has the best intentions, which is questionable, what happens if their security is breached and your vehicle title, CDL, account information, etc become compromised? Then if you ever have an issue, are you going to be able to talk to somebody who speaks English and can actually assist you?Meonthenet, onetime42, fordconvert and 7 others Thank this.
