704k d13 10speed
Last week had the new single piece manifold and complete turbo replaced. Truck still wont boost more then 21 psi and EGT's seems high with only pulling an empty trailer. Blowing black smoke when 8psi or more. Only code I have seen is Mid 128 pid 412 fmi 0. No power what so ever.
To boot now I have have a coolant leak from either the 7th injector line or the egr cooler has sprung an external leak just under the doser housing. I see a coolant crust on the cooler but no visible leak. And now a DOC face plug. Just behind the doser housing. So the frame rail is now a new carbon color along with anything down stream of the doser housing.
I had 1 regen with only 1270 miles and it lasted 19mins. Normally regens are 22 to 25 mins.
Alot of #### to work threw and just wondering if a bad egr would be causing the black smoke and low boost/power.
Any advice and or suggestions welcome.
Egr cooler plugged or bad egr?

Did you check if is not derated ? I had similar problems hard to diagnose caused by a bad EGR valve, low boost power, black smoke. I took the truck in 4-5 Volvo shops and they were clueless, because was not throwing egr fault codes and not doing it all the time, and finaly a mechanic here at Volvo in Cambridge Ontario replaced the EGR valve just to see if will make a difference , and this was the isue.

What was the issue with the turbo etc. ?
-
The turbo was leaking oil into the cold side. Also the VGT was starting to hang up.

Did you replace vgt actuator aswell? Low boost can cause if you cac leaking. Pressure test your cac and check if no leaks. Also check if your doc is not plugged, if you have exhaust restriction you will also loose boost. Do 7ou have pyro gauge? What are turbo exhaust temps?

Turbo with actuator was replaced as a complete unit.
I have a scan gauge and get my EGT and Boost readings from that. I have had a bad CAC before and this doesn't feel like anything like before.
So I am at a shop this morning and driving here was a choir. As a bobtail the EGT's climbed upto 1150ish going up a minor hill. It has less power after replacing part of the DOC. I have a feeling that the dpf is plugged.Last edited: Jul 18, 2016

2010 d13 no def.
Yea I am worried about the EGT'S getting to high.
Thanks -
I was wondering if there was an issue with the DPF due to the picture you had showing the oil in and around the turbo. Oil leaks back and gets into everything from the Turbo back. When you can give an update as to what the outcome is. Good luckSocal Xpress Thanks this.
