Is anyone else having a hard time locating a EGR cooler? From what I've learned its on a nationwide back order and no dealership or parts house has one. I found a couple of used ones but that would void our warranty. Is anyone else going through this situation? I would like to know how or what did you do to get your truck back on the road?Or have you figured out another solution? I know its not a lot i can do, just want to know what other solutions anyone has worked out.

How will using a used cooler void warranty? They track them by serial number now?

We had the same problem at my previous company, we were looking at 6 months at least to get the part.
We googled the part number and found one in, I think South Carolina, brand new. I don't remember the company but they were manufacturing the as an aftermarket part.
No issues since installed.
Sorry I don't know what the company was that we got it from, and I am not on good terms with my prior company so can't ask. -
I had the same situation first of the year. It was covered under warranty but was on national back order with no eta.
They said mine was because it was a DD16, but apparently it’s affecting the 15 as well.
Anyway I ordered an aftermarket one from Tamerx.com they were great to deal with and I had it next day. Swapped it out and returned the core. They don’t charge a core deposit upfront, however if you don’t send back a core they will charge you. It fit perfectly and hasn’t gave any trouble.
Be sure to replace the inlet/outlet tubes in the head.
As far as the warranty I only had a couple months left at that time so not sure. However if the dealership would have done the job they likely would have cleaned or replaced the DPF filters from excess coolant being run through the exhaust. However I couldn’t afford to let the truck sit until Detriot decided to send a cooler. -
Just go aftermarket. Search Dales Super Store
No need to buy this crap from the dealers. They never stock anything. Downtime kills u in this business. U can get this job done in about 7 hours urself. Least on a Cummins. Wouldn't think Detroit is much different. I have ordered a fair amount from these guys. They have good parts. And always in stock. Fast shipping. Good customer service.
