How long do I have to fix it until more damage is done? I just started a 3 to 4 ish week tour.

Where is the coolant leak coming from? At the banjo bolt? If your EGR cooler was leaking coolant internally, which you probably wouldn't be able to see, that's when it can cause problems. The coolant mixes with the gas and goes back into the combustion chamber and can damage components and contaminate DOC/SCR, or cause the DPF to get plugged easier.
I would still fix it soon, because even if you can continue to top off the coolant and run, you're going to have a huge mess and it will be hard to tell if it's just that leak, or if it's coming from somewhere else.Siinman and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this. -
Minor update: as I will post more in the next couple days.
Some one walked over and looked at in person for me today. They said clean that bolt and put a regular hose clamp on it and check it every time you stop to see if that fixes it. If not then dig deeper.
When I showed time the small amount of soot in the coolant. About 5 tea spoons worth. And then I explained the six weeks I just spent fighting the different sensors. Because of the soot build up. He said its for sure leaking. But not gone at this point.
I will clean that bolt and reclamp it in the morning.

If you think there's soot in your coolant, it's probably leaking. If you disconnect the exhaust pipe from the EGR cooler, it might help verify that. The coolant can make the soot sticky and causes it to get plugged up quicker. Just keep in mind that even if you don't see it plugged up, it might be happening further back where you can't see. This is just to reinforce the idea that it's leaking, not to eliminate that as a cause.
Another thing would be to remove the DOC/DPF and inspect it for coolant stains. If the cooler is leaking, you'll probably want to get them cleaned anyway.
If you drain the coolant to repair the hose, keep in mind that you might have to top off the coolant initially due to air pockets that can form. If you keep having to add coolant after that, then I would fix it before running any more. It's a good idea to find out if shops currently carry the EGR cooler due to parts shortages.Keepforgettingmypassword, Oxbow and Siinman Thank this.
