254 Engine Fuel Shutoff Valve Driver Circuit - Voltage Below Normal or Shorted to Low Source
The fuel shutoff valve is located near the fuel pump, has a single wire going to it. Grab a dvom check resistance. should be 6 to 15 ohms. If not the solenoid is easy to replace, and parts come in a complete service kit.

 

251 is a lost of power to the ecm while the key is switched to the on position. Can you see how many counts this code has? Most common situations I see with this code is a driver will switch the main kill switch off to kill battery power before turning the ignition switch off. Other causes could include removing the batteries with the key on or loose cables. Rare causes would be damaged or restricted cables, or an incorrect power source to the ecm (ie the unstitched battery supply voltage should be off the battery, we have seen some coming from the starter)

 

That is fault code 254, not SID 254.

SID 254 is an internal ECM fault, which could be a power or ground problem causing intermittent or low voltage.

SID 251 is similar, but specific to the ignition power or realtime clock.

Hopefully you find some bad wiring connections, but the worst case scenario is a faulty ECM.

Those codes should also give an FMI, which will help narrow it down better.

 

Hi guys. I have 2011 cascadia with cummins. I have this code on my dash board.. ecu128 sid 380 fail 11 can any one help me with this code when i take it to cummins shop they clear the codes and it just comes back.. code pops up and i loose power climbing little hills and i push the gas pedal more..appreciate your help guys

Hey guys I went through the code system here it showed me fault one then it went to cab 249 then Sid 254 after that it showed fault 02 I have a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia Cummins engine can anybody help me out with these codes what's going on with my truck my check engine light pops on for a while and then goes off
