Anyone have any thoughts on this outfit??
Good, bad, or indifferent I'd like to know.
Thanx.

ECM out of Springdale, PA (Pittsburgh Subburb) was owned by Pitt-Ohio Express. Talked to a day cab driver a while back and said he only made $14 an hour. I think their OTR drivers are at $0.36 mile start out. Oh, and im 99% sure the trucks have to be park at their yard in New kensington, PA when you take hometime. Never really heard good or bad. Hope this helps.

ecm=truckload division of pitt-ohio express. last time i talked with a driver at the pitt ohio cleveland yard about them, he said that they got paid pretty decent. Not quite what top rate at pitt ohio is, but for local truckload, or regional work, it was competitive with other companies.

twinsburg oh is hiring local drivers starting at 15 right now. battle creek michigan stated .45 cpm. not too bad for starting wages in these locations at this point, considering that you aren't peddling motor freight, just doing truckload pickup's and deliveries. -
Been with ECM for more than 10 years ...OTR, before they merged with PittOhio.
Yes, the truck gets parked at whatever terminal you are out of, each weekend, but no slipseat, unless vacation week, maybe, and even then your truck is expected to be respected.
Mechanics get things done and do them well. No complaints there. ECM expects high standards maintenance-wise, and a decently clean housekeeping, as we do. Costs less overall. New trucks, new trailers when affordable. Again, the business cost is less, overall.
Pay is better than most companies. Paid "map" mileage, deadhead or loaded, detention, hazmat extra, and few other items. 401K, you contribute to health insur, but they help, paid vacation after while, some paid holidays, etc...now this is how it WAS, you'd have to call to see what offer is today. Owner used to be driver and still seems to remember what it was like. As long as you work hard and honest, he is best CEO we ever worked for. Before recession and ridiculously-high fuel costs, we had the biggest, most generous Christmas party given by owner and family...those were the days, but that is gone.
Usually had good dispatchers, but dispatchers are dispatchers (they are people, too), don't know how they divy them up, but current one is very good.
Computers in trucks, they keep logs, not hard to learn. This company is constantly adjusting to the times, is open to changes and does consider the employees, but it is a business and money needs to be made. When changes are major, or business is different (good or bad), we get a business news update from owner. Also, they give recognition for years of safety These things are impressive.
As long as you do the work honestly, run as you should, don't play games, theyre great. We are very proud to be with ECM and highly recommend them. -
Yes. Pitt Ohio owns 51 % of ECM. ECM transport is a joke.. There people think because you drive for them you don't have a life out side of them.. I worked for them and they like to play way to many games. And they like to edite your log books to so you can keep driving not worrird about if your to tired to run as long as you get that last load for them they don't care.. If you have driving time or not they will ask you to do it anyways and they will edite your log books for you to do it.. I had a 16 hour day I used one day and then they wanted me to go pick up 5 skids somewhere and I told them I didn't haVE THE DRIVING TIME TO DO IT.. So they sent me a quail com message and said they edited my logs. So I went and did it anyways. Then I get there and the place told me they called them at 2 pm and told them the five skids where canceled but they didn't tell me about it and I tryed to call them and message them and no one would answer me.. And to top it off they ran a driver out to the same town they sent me to with an empty trailer and didn't ask him to pick the five skids up while he was right there!! But they adjusted my log books so I could have another 16hour day to run out there to get the 5 skids they knew wasn't there.. I thought ECM would be a good company to work for because Pitt Ohio owned them.. BOY WAS I EVERY WRONG ABOUT THAT!!! Oh and the pitt ohio people will always give you an attitude because they don't like ECM.. and its hard to get them to work on your truck if something is wrong with it.. and your dispatcher will make sure it wont get done to cause he wants to keep you moving no matter whats wrong with your truckk.. One more thing otr drivers get payed by the miles day cab drivers get payed by the hour with NO OVER TIME and thats why they run you like a dog!!! So I got POed at them and didn'y come in one day and they said I didn't show up for 2 days.. and they already gave my truck away the next day I didn't show up.. And called me and said I didn't show up for 2 days. When I did show up I was told by an employee of pitt ohio ECM called him and said I was to give him my keys and turn my stuff in that they gave me... I said no problem here you go.. They Lie and edite your log books don't need to work for someone like that!!!!

"If you are an hourly driver(home every night & weekends) the hourly pay differs from area to area I guess....thier OTR pays about .47cents a mile I believe.....I just started with them last week....So far...So-So....."
