Does anyone know anything about ECM Transport? I was wondering if you had to live close to one of their terminals and what they were like to work for. Thanks.![]()

Yes. Pitt Ohio owns 51 % of ECM. ECM transport is a joke.. There people think because you drive for them you don't have a life out side of them.. I worked for them and they like to play way to many games. And they like to edite your log books to so you can keep driving not worrird about if your to tired to run as long as you get that last load for them they don't care.. If you have driving time or not they will ask you to do it anyways and they will edite your log books for you to do it.. I had a 16 hour day I used one day and then they wanted me to go pick up 5 skids somewhere and I told them I didn't haVE THE DRIVING TIME TO DO IT.. So they sent me a quail com message and said they edited my logs. So I went and did it anyways. Then I get there and the place told me they called them at 2 pm and told them the five skids where canceled but they didn't tell me about it and I tryed to call them and message them and no one would answer me.. And to top it off they ran a driver out to the same town they sent me to with an empty trailer and didn't ask him to pick the five skids up while he was right there!! But they adjusted my log books so I could have another 16hour day to run out there to get the 5 skids they knew wasn't there.. I thought ECM would be a good company to work for because Pitt Ohio owned them.. BOY WAS I EVERY WRONG ABOUT THAT!!! Oh and the pitt ohio people will always give you an attitude because they don't like ECM.. and its hard to get them to work on your truck if something is wrong with it.. and your dispatcher will make sure it wont get done to cause he wants to keep you moving no matter whats wrong with your truckk.. One more thing otr drivers get payed by the miles day cab drivers get payed by the hour with NO OVER TIME and thats why they run you like a dog!!! So I got POed at them and didn'y come in one day and they said I didn't show up for 2 days.. and they already gave my truck away the next day I didn't show up.. And called me and said I didn't show up for 2 days. When I did show up I was told by an employee of pitt ohio ECM called him and said I was to give him my keys and turn my stuff in that they gave me... I said no problem here you go.. They Lie and edite your log books don't need to work for someone like that!!!!

"I just started with them myself last week......So far so so.....If they are hiring in your area you should prob be able to get a job with them....I am the only driver in my area with them,Erie-Pa,I have my thoughts about them so not sure that this will be the company I retire from,lol.....If you do drive for them I'd def not let them push you into anything that might affect you personally/buissnessly in any way like the post above mine.....There is no way in heck will they be telling me to do anything illegal as I know I would be the one and only getting in trouble for it. And Pitt-Ohio does own 51% of the company but you do not get Pitt-Ohio's bennys in anyway at this time and probaly never will(not holding my breathe,lol).......But I will say it's ok.....Atleast so far....unless you can find a better paying company.....AND THEY DO NOT PAY O/T.....I think that's kinda messed up and the first and last time I wil ever work for a company that doesn't as an hourly driver. All I can say at this time really is give them a call and look into maybe a job with them.....Thier OTR pays about .47 cents a mile and they do get you home on the weekends....As an hourly the hour pay differs area to area I guess....no o/t but you will get in some hours.....Good Luck....Hope this was kinda helpful to ya."

I'am looking in to them out of new jersey just wanted to know more about them

What did you want to know Big Frosty? I've been with them out of Pitt/West Middlesex areas for about 3 months now.
-
Big Frosty,I think to work for them out of NJ you would have to be out of the Allentown Pa terminal but not sure. They are an ok company.Def not the best I've worked for or the worst.
-
I would be out of Cinnaminson,nj.How often do you get home. Are the trucks macks or Freightliners. Thanks for your help.
-
"I'm home every night and run a Freightliner(sleeper, columbia) but we are gettin new macks in everyday and switchin out due to Pitt-Ohio owning most of our stock I guess......Even if your OTR with them you are home every weekend as far as I know,Atleast that's what some of the OTR guys have told me. I'm the happiest I can be with them but def tryin to hang in atleast for a bit anyways but to each thier own."

What can I expect at orientation. I never had to use Qualcomm or e-log and do they have gps in the truck.Do they put you up in a nice motel and is a single room. Do you have to pay for all your meals. I thing the lady said i would be there two days. Any thing you can tell would be a big help. Thanks Don

They put you up in a decent motel and pay for your dinner&breakfast(plus you can put the tip on it too, lol) there in the resturant they have at the motel which wasn't bad at all....You can order whatever you want......Two dinners & two breakfasts......Lunch is provided at orientation.....they will show you how to use the "Q"....and it has gps built in it but don't always go by what it says cause it has try'd to take me down streets trucks aren't allowed on....If I have any doubts I shout out on my CB or call the place before hand......I would bring some cash just in case,Never know what you might need/want.....I had my room all to myself and so did the guy from Allentown that was there too......Hope this helps ya a bit......
