Is it the throwout bearing or does the clutch need adjusted?

I was rebuilding a 15615 last winter and ran into an input shaft issue. Eaton went with smaller teeth on their input shaft to drive gear splines, creating rotational slop in the old drive gear. After consulting a few shops the general consensus was that it would be ok but could rattle at idle. I found an older style shaft that fit better so used it instead.
Hulld Thanks this. -

I have been running the Eaton shaft for about three years and it always had some rattling but seems worse sense I upgraded the clutch recently to a 2050 torque. -
I went with an aftermarket shaft in mine that had the big teeth. Its only a 375/1,350 Cat in a hobby truck. We'll see if it holds up.
Hulld Thanks this. -
I had to upgrade my clutch because I was getting clutch slip at low speed high torque tip in situations with my programmed 14 liter Detroit -
Haven't tried it yet. Transmission is still on the shop floor.

I’ve had 2 Eaton rebuilt transmissions 10 spd in the last 3 years. Both rattle loudly at idle.
-
I have been also told this by a few other people.
