2019 579. After sitting overnight air bleeds down to nothing. I'll run the air up. The last few mornings I will have a trans fault warning and it may or may not go into gear initially. I will shut the key off once or twice and the warning will go away and the trans will shift normal. I will also add it's been at or below freezing.

Here's my main question for those that may have an idea what might be going on with this. I'm supposed to pick up a 44k lb load first thing Monday morning headed to Texas. Would you risk running it until you can get home or blow off the load and get it to the nearest shop? Nearest shop is less than 10 miles. Load delivers east Texas 30 miles from a place I call my second home, but is 2300 miles away.

It's amazing how many 'previously fine' systems start having issues when it's sub freezing.

On an aside note, your signature line almost made me spray the laptop with beer out my nostrils.

I just had one go into the shop with an endurant 12 speed issue. You might just check that the airline running to the trans is ok. Otherwise I was advised not to play games with it and get it into the shop. (Kenworth) Bad news is it’s taking a week for the qualified tech to drop the thing, open it up and inspect. Eaton will make a warranty decision at that point to fix or replace.

We’ll see, not impressed so far although it’s been flawless. This is the longest I’ve kept a new truck and I’ll be keeping an eye on the situation to see whether to keep my others this long.

    2019 x15 endurant 485k.

Anyway, I don’t have the codes in front of me but it was wanting to get stuck in 4th gear but would still overall work. Unless it’s just the air line, your probably looking at a couple weeks of down time at least depending on how busy your shop is. You could just throw a new one in for 12k but that’s your decision. I’m waiting to see what warranty says since I had a truck sitting open anyway.

Mines a MX13 with 455k on it. I've only owned it since October. What is the warranty on these? 5/750?

Yrs not sure but it’s either 700 or 750k miles.

    Trans internals are 5yr 750.

RH shift stalks are common to fail for failed to engage gear from a stop.

There are a host of other issues it could be for shifting complaints or trans service lights during operation or failed shifts.

Lots of parts availability issues on these due to common failures as well.

I'm thinking the stalk is ok since it'll go into 2nd initially every time and I can hear it going into gear.

After getting pretty decent info on this, I'm kind thinking the mtm will end up being the issue, but until I get it into a shop, I won't know for sure.

On a brighter note, it's above freezing right now and the problem isn't happening. Of course I don't need to be anywhere until tomorrow.

Is the mtm considered internal? I'm sure it's not, but worth asking. I did find a technical bulletin about some fasteners coming loose on the mtm that may relate to my problem, but I also won't know that until it sees a shop. It should be within the build date for the bulletin.

Yes the MTM is covered under the trans warranty. It’s also on the hard to get list if it’s bad. Some of the screws have been coming loose on the end caps of the shift bar. I have one unit in that has been waiting for a couple weeks for one.

    BoxCarKidd and MicksRule Thank this.

    Thanks for the info.

One more quick question. Will the module retain the codes? I'm thinking yes, but just wanted to make sure.
