I paid the big bucks for the big name and I thought quality workmanship. New clutch out of the box and it had 2 things wrong that should never have happened.

The adjustment nut was not popped up and in the lock position.

The flywheel disc is stamped incorrectly. The short side of the hub is stamped ‘flywheel’. The long side of the hub goes to the flywheel.

I am quite sure that I know what I will get for my troubles.

I suspect that is what I will get. Friday I picked up another clutch not knowing what I would find wrong.

Second clutch is stamped on the wrong side as well. Great job Eaton!

You have been struggling with this! I have been there. The longest clutch hub collar goes toward the transmission. Believe the next longest or mid length collar faces the engine. The short sides look at each other.
Clutch hub now fits in the flywheel?
I beat my head on one that the flywheel bolt shoulders ( pressure plate to flywheel bolts ) bottomed before the pressure plate was pulled up solid to the flywheel. It worked fine before the flywheel was surfaced. You might check that.
I may have overlooked your posts but please state what your current problems - conditions are.

    Rideandrepair and SAR Thank this.

Eaton stamps the word ‘flywheel’ on the wrong side of the disc that goes up against the flywheel. When the wood spacer blocks drop out from the throwout bearing it puts springs in that disc up against the studs holding the flywheel.

The side of the disc with the more of the splined hub showing goes towards the flywheel.

Lesson learned. Along with a reman transmission from an authorized rebuilder that wasn’t done properly. It wasn’t fit to be put in a truck unless you want to start with rust before installing it. The transmission came from PTI (Powertrain Inc) through TruckPro.

You was looking for cheaper parts? You got it. There is why I will never buy parts from PTI again. Lesson learned. Expensive lesson.

Hey who said I was looking for cheap? I bought a reman through an EATON AUTHORIZED REBUILDER.
If buying Eaton authorized is being cheap, so be it.
If $3900 is a cheap reman there are many many other cheapskates out there along with me.
