2013 Prostate maxxforce w/Eaton 10 speed.
Is it really the case that this single piece clutch brake is not replaceable with a two piece and the entire transmission has to be dropped to replace a clutch brake???

The single piece clutch brake can be removed, having it done next week. The tranny shop said if they can’t cut it out then they would use a cutting torch. No trans removal.

It is possible.

I take them out with a torch. Tell the customer it is a 2.5 hour charge upfront. That is to replace brake and adjust clutch without removing the transmission.

Someone's trying to #### you without any
Bet you anything they plan on doing it without pulling the tranny and then handing you a bill for 10 hours labour.spsauerland Thanks this. -
The more important question should be........why did the the clutch brake not outlast the clutch and what can I do to prevent failure in the future?
Yes it can be done.......not a pleasant job by any means, depending on the amount of grease present.
Depending on the life remaining of the clutch, miles, use ect......I would just consider putting a clutch in it and going with the original one piece.mr_ocean, Roger McG, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -
That is normally correct but I did finally learn to adjust the brake a bit on the loose side for some customers. Slip seating new drivers and some must use it to stop the vehicle. Grease the disc also.

They didn't even try to pursue dropping the tranny. They originally thought it could be taken out with a torch but then called and said the hydraulic clutch cylinder was interfering and to just let it go until the clutch needed to be done.
Don't know what caused it to be worn out other than normal wear perhaps. Haven't been in this truck very long and it was gone when I got in. Perhaps the previous driver did too much incorrect (deep) pedal. No clue.
Really just a minor inconvenience from my perspective requiring a bit more proactive gear selection.
Thought someone here might have some specialized insight into THIS truck.
Appreciate the replies.
