I know most are .73, .82, then direct. But their were a few earlier ones that were a single overdrive .86. Like the RTLO 16618...it has a wicked low hole and reverse as well. They are pretty lightduty compared to a 169 or 189 series though and use the old style countershaft bearings, auxilliary drive bearing & gear, smaller output shaft bearings, old style auxilliary case, and coarse output shaft. It does work very nice in the right application where lots of starting power is needed and a faster rearends are present in a truck with a lower torq rating motor like a B or C model cat or a Big Cam cummins. ...the .86 is probably 5-8mph slower than the .73 id say. other than this most all the 18's are the same .73 high gear ratio just with different torq ratings designations.
