Sorry if there’s already been a thread posted about this, I’m a new member. I’ve got a 2006 KW W900l with an Eaton RTLO18918B transmission. So in the last few weeks my transmissions been pretty delayed in shifting from low to high range and vice versa (no grinding noise; it would just take an extra second or two to shift), until it wouldn’t shift into high range at all without some “encouragement”. Right about the time it had stopped shifting into high range I started hearing an air leak from from under the truck every time I would flip my Hi-lo range selector on the shifter. Looked under the truck and found the slave valve on the front driver side of the transmission was leaking air out of what I assume is a vent hole. Replaced the valve and let the truck build air, and it’s still leaking out of the same vent hole. Spoke to a local mechanic and he says the range cylinder probably blew an o ring. I was just wanting to get a second opinion and make sure it’s not something else. Any ideas?

I would agree with the range cylinder having an issue. Might as well reseal both the range and splitter while your in there.
Found this neat chart on a quick search that will help.....

You can start with removing the range cylinder cap and removing the piston off the shaft and put new o ring on piston. See if that seals it up. If not, I believe the auxiliary must be removed to install a new print on the shaft
The high low splitter cylinder which is not your issue here can be fully serviced without removing auxiliary. Only requires draining the trans fluid.

Ok thanks for the input! I threw on a new filter/regulator today since I was throwing new parts at it, and still leaks out of the slave valve exhaust port. So I’ll get an o ring kit for the range cylinder. And just to to be clear, the hi-lo range cylinder is the one that’s sits behind the regulator, and the gear splitter cylinder is the one on the lower left when facing the rear of the transmission correct?

For part numbers, refer to page 46. Look like you need a gasket for the cover as well as o-rings
