    Ok,so I don’t have 5th and 10th gear anymore.
Earlier today i noticed some noise and slight vibration coming from underneath the truck while cruising at 65mph.
Then, when traffic came to a stop a noticed that shifting through the gears isn’t smooth, there was noise and grinding between each gear.
I stoped at rest area and noticed that there is noise coming from underneath the truck,I guess from transmission even when truck is in neutral and idling and the noise stops when i press the clutch.
Another weird thing happening while idling is that speedometer needle is going up and down erratically.
    Oil level is good.
I continued driving and after some time everything became smooth again, like nothing is wrong.
Then after maybe two hours noise came back even louder and i lost 5th and 10th gear.
Anyone knows what could be a problem?

Glad you made it home and hope you enjoy the week off. Guessing the rear main shaft bearing went out.

You need a new gear in the trans. Or a fork. Trans is easy to do at least when watching it on YouTube.

Driving a truck is like that on You Tube also when you look at the posts of talented drivers. It is so easy anyone can do that. Believe that? Dave in Az has some beach property for sale.
All meant in good fun. That transmission is probably a basket case now. Still probably less expensive than emergency Christmas day service. He would probably still be there and dumped a lot of cash. Glad he made it home for Christmas. Better late than never.

5th and 10th would be front gear in the main box. Could have stripped the teeth off. Seen it happen lots of times.

Jake: Welcome aboard! Just some open discussion on this problem.
I also have seen that lots of times but would that cause shifting problems in other gears?
We do not know if this is a direct or overdrive transmissions which affects the diagnosis.

    mladen86 Thanks this.
