    Yea, 1 payment of the full asking price upfront and as many more payments as you wanna make after that.



    “whats the least you’d take?”
    Add 10% to the posted price, come with exactly the posted price and you can tell your people how you chiseled me.


    “I’ll trade you a (something nobody wants) and $5k”
    That “no trades except flatglass parts” in the ad was no ########.

    ^ these are all actual interactions with broke people posing as buyers.








    Per the following question, I think my trailer dealer has charged me a thousand bucks per unit historically for consignment. That is 100% worth it in my opinion. On the other hand i do buy trailers from them frequently for the size of my operation, if it’s a one n done deal maybe they’d want more?

    1st of all, throwing in the towel, eh? Good for you, I support that 100%. Selling anything is the absolute worst, I hate it, and I usually say too much and kill the deal. Keep your mouth shut, let the truck sell itself, I was told. Still, consignment is probably the easiest, and all the BS associated with selling something usually isn't worth the small amount extra you may get. Good luck, pal. Keep us posted, eh?

    So Truck Paper has an option to list it for free if it’s your first listing with them. They won’t tell you until you ask.

    It’s only for 7 days but you will see if it’s worth it to pay, when you see if you get enough inquiries.

    I did end up paying them after the free week because there was some traffic coming from their site.

    In the end I had 3 people looking at the truck the day I sold it. 2 serious one from truck paper, one from ebay, the guy from ebay pulled money out first so he took the truck.

    I went through that with them when I sold my end dump. They wanted shop references from places that worked on my equipment in the past and the price was way too high.

    If parking is an issue you might be better off going the consignment route since most places will keep it on their lot to take pictures and show it to potential customers.

    I’m in a similar situation. I see a lot of postings on “commercial truck trader” and I believe can list there for a reasonable fee. I park my tractor in our driveway so no worries there. First step is to detail in and out but was quoted about $2700 so may end up doing it myself. Prices on used trucks are crazy low now so wherever one can save the better.

    insure it ... leave it in a bad neighborhood with the spare key in the ignition. Truck market is pretty down.

    I’m in the midst of a divorce, so the truck is home right now. I’m planning on working at least through the first quarter of ‘24 kinda playing wait-and-see. I’ve got enough for a healthy down payment on a house, so the proceeds from the truck would simply replace those funds. But interest rates are stupid right now too, so I’ll hold off until I prepare to slit my wrists. :D
