not sure what that means - however it is now offical Prime is now shifting to e-restrictions if you train w/ a trainer who drives an automatic. There new fleet is now shifting to an automatic from what is being leaked online, and from that the Manuel starts to decline at least for that company it would seem.

Prime officially is now granting E-restriction if you test in an automatic if your trainer has an automatic.

That is a lame attempt by them to curtail turnover. How? Because if you're limited as to where you can go, it's tough to seek those greener pastures. In other words, that E restriction will prevent some drivers from quitting, because that E restriction is preventing them from being hired on elsewhere. That saves on recruiting and training costs, and lowers the turnover rate which gives the false impression of a better company. Hard to leave when you don't have anywhere to go!

Always test with a manual with the State DMV. If you don't like it tough. Learn it and pass the test. And forgetabout it the rest of your life.

Restrictions on CDL is bad mmkay? If I had larry moe and curly wanting work and two cannot drive a manual because the states have imposed restrictions for auto only one of them is going to have a job today. The other two will be told to pound sand.

Hell my state has restrictions on the CHL (Concealed carry) for anyone testing with a revolver. You cannot legally carry a Auto (Semi) with that CHL restriction here. I like both revolvers and semis. I do best with semis. However the revolvers I have owned in the past (Thunder Ranch .45 with 4 inch barrel and wooden grip) is way too huge to conceal under the holster. That's way I had to sell it. It's a shame because it's a true fighting revolver. And anything smaller in revolvers such as the little Ruger +38 or even smaller just dont fit my larger hands. I carry a full colt railgun. And since this is Glock country, I get teased alot about the jamolot.

Other posters have hit you over the head why having auto only restriction is bad on the CDL. Manuals will be around for a very very long time.

I hate to think I have to go get a MCSA and then a MCSE which requres a year of MCSA before even attempting the MCSE just to handle the pending robot trucks that are all computer crap someday.

I wonder what a no human restriction would look like on a really smart robot tractor trailer...
