Got my cdl February 2018 in Florida. Was confirmed with the big wigs of my truck driving school that doing a (Road test) in an automatic would not place a restriction on our cdl as Florida has not passed the law. That we would be grandfathered in...
Just a couple weeks ago Florida DOT sends a letter in the mail saying there is going to be an E restriction placed on my cdl if I don't retest by August 2019.
Per FMCSA
"If the driver takes the Skills Test in a vehicle that has an automatic transmission, then an "E" no manual transmission restriction is placed on their license."
I did the skills test in a manual and the road test in an automatic.
Did the school tell us this on purpose so we would all have to come back and pay money to retest?
