Most of the time if you walk into a Home Depot and ask them to make a Freightliner key they will say they cannot do it

Tell them to use a 14R1 blank

I think all the trucks I've tried are approx 2015-2020 models.

    YMMV

I broke my F/liner key off in the switch and the key guy couldn't put it in his key machine, so he made a master key and it unlocked every one that drivers who had locked their keys inside their trucks and were walking around the truck stop looking for help and not able to get their doors opened with a crowd of drivers around their truck telling them the only other way to get in was to knock out the window??

LOL that's a bold move knocking out a window...... seems like that would be way more expensive than a locksmith

Freightliners used to be the easiest to get into. Lean on the peep window in the passenger door and it fell in on the floor. I’d imagine anything built by Daimler is a $1000 service call to get into though.

A 2022 International uses the same key from a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Get 3 extra keys from wallyworld for maybe 5 bucks.

Was driving an 2016 Pete with the ‘no lock yourself out feature’ where you have to lock the drivers door with the key. So I always would hit the lock doors button climb down and lock driver door with key so Id know all the doors were locked.

Long story short, it locked the driver door once and I left key in the ignition that day. So I needed a locksmith in the middle of nowhere.

Got a number and a truck repo guy showed up and tried for an hour to get in. His buddy showed up and got in in 5 mins using one of those small airbag pump up things to make enough room for a rod to hit the button. They charged I think $60 so I was greatful to get taught a lesson and only pay $60.

Yea just get in the habit of only locking your door with the key.

That's not to say you may not drop it down a storm drain or something.

The truck I’m in now all the locks unlock when I pop the brakes. So I’m back to hitting the lock button then locking driver door with key.
