Make sure to use a rated strap on them while in storage. Bungies don't count. I carry 8 pieces of hardwood. Used to cart more but it's a pain. If they need more than 8 they should have some on site. 4 pieces are beveled for coils, should the need arise.

I have some 4' beveled pieces at the house that I would like to carry but not sure where to store them. The 8' beveled pieces kind of get in the way sometimes while chaining coils.

Right now I only have 4. That's not typical but you can get by 90% of what we haul. I will get 4 more after hometime.

3x4. Stack them diffs to ways to get different hights. They are lighter and easier to store on the trailer.

Varies from load to load and trailer to trailer. Many shippers will supply any specialized dunnage they want on their loads. Between 6-12 8' hardwood 3x3's, 3x4's or 4x4's is usually considered sufficient for most loads.

We carried 14 on our 53 foot trailers to run two strips the length of the trailer for concrete pipe. When we had to carry box culverts flat on the face we had to get 2 6x6 per box or 2 4x4 and 2 2x4 for each box.

My company has 10 4x4, and 2 4x6 being held in the trailer landing gear braces. Perfect amount. Covers the deck with no problem for any load. If more IS necessary, the customer provides it, no charge.

I carried 10 4x4s 8ft long at my previous companies. My current company we only carry enough to keep our task had racks off the deck

I've been carrying 20 8' 4x4's, 12 8' 2x4's, and 12 4' 2x4's and for the last year, but haven't needed more than 8 of any at once in the last 4 years. Finding a good place to dump these things is too much effort.

Question as to how much dunnage and what size on an RGN with outriggers should be carried and what kind of wood. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
