Hello all-
I am a new owner operator. I was notified by the FMCSA that I need to join a testing consortium. Can you tell me of any good companies out there that provide this service? Any help is appreciated. I want to sign up with a reputable company and some that I have researched online are quite costly.
Thanks!!

For a single truck operator the easiest one to join is CCMI which is affiliated with OOIDA. Call their member services department and they can get you all set up, it will cost your annual membership of $45 plus $100 per driver per year which includes the tests except for post accident and return to duty (after a positive result).
I use a smaller, local consortium that is much cheaper, but they only have a few offices so they are not a good fit for an OTR company. You can ask around at a smaller occupational medicine office, somewhere that already does DOT physcials and drug tests, they may have a local consortium that you can join for less money and hassle that is FMCSA compliant. -
i am with cmci

ok so we are already members of OOIDA. I checked out their program and it's $110 to join a one time fee. Then $125 per driver....... plus the membership fee.

Nastc is $105 one time fee and then $35 for each test
DSK333 and brian991219 Thank this. -

I found a local outfit that does drug testing and they beat the pants off nastc and ooida's affiliate. It cost me $100 and that included my pre-employment and any random, everything I needed to be in compliance. So, just check around where you live and you'll find something more affordable.

one thing about cmci is you don't pay for your random drug tests only requested drug test, like pre-hires or post accident, but if they call you for a random that is covered in your membership costs.
