Not to change the topic but why would law enforcement raise an eyebrow or be concerned that you have weapons? Around here they would yawn.

So, I made it to Denver where I'm getting my truck ready for the trip up north. Dot inspection and A service among other things

You do need to pay attention to this about Canada or you will have to sit at the nearest stop and wait.

50 Subject to section 53, no motor carrier shall request, require or allow a driver to drive and no driver shall drive unless the driver has taken at least 24 consecutive hours of off-duty time in the preceding 14 days.

The Weather Channel on TV has the program about the big wreckers called "Highway to Hell". They work the Coquihalla Highway and other roads, cleaning up messes. Everything people have posted on here so far covers it. They also have the right to order you to chain up and can do it and charge you for it.

I would make sure I researched where any stops are at and right them down, along with major cities (if there are any out there).

    Be safe and careful.

Bringing weapons into Canada? That's a major no-no from everything I've ever heard. Although I'd feel a lot less naked having one as a practical tool up there in the northern wilderness. Not like a 9mm handgun I mean something that packs a punch like a 30-30 Winchester or a pump action 12 gauge.

So they basically force you to take a reset at least once every 14 days in the southern provinces. Done! I'll be at the bar drinking Canadian Whisky.

I carried and still carry, a Smith & Wesson 500 magnum with a 4-1/2" barrel for bear protection. It only has an effective range of about 10 feet but will knock a semi over and it kicks like a mule.

    Sure they will yawn.

We have begun to have killings by gun in our area since the 70's when a gaurd was killed by a kid trying to get inside the drug store.

Personally Im known to the Law as a carrier, it's not so much about me and them but more of other persons who also carry and know what those shooting glasses are about. I have identified other carriers at times from glasses as well.

In Arkansas you are supposed to be truly concealed. No bulges, brandishing or anything. There is the right way to do it and a wrong way to do it. We are also a Blade State too once our Bowie laws were repealed in 2011. You can carry a Toothpick in a pants leg if you wish.

Over 40 yrs ago in a town we lived in AR, it was not unusual for guys to be carrying, and it was not concealed. Go to the bank, whatever, no one ever thought about it really. Guys hunted all over the place, so everyone had their gunrack in the back window of the truck. And there sure weren't all the killings going on like now. Too many crazy people and people using drugs.
