driving into NYC

    Hi, I have a question, please help me if you can...
    I'll be driving from George Washington Bridge into NYC ( midtown by west side highway ) and was wondering how can I by pass hutchinson prkwy. Am i going to drive down the street all the way to west side by javits center?
    please help, thank you.

    NEVER...REPEAT NEVER GO ON ANY PARKWAY IN NY !!!!!!!!!!! they all have low bridges!!!!!!! and no trucks allowed!!!!!!!!!!

    go over gw stay in right lane get off 178th st before you go under apartments go to broadway turn right follow down to columbus bear right which turns into 9th ave down to 42nd make right to west side highway

    Maybe this will help: NYC Truck route map. There is all sorts of info on truck routing, weight limits, clearances and anything else concerning driving a rig in NYC.

    I have picked up at the Javitts center before
    cross GW get off at w187th street go two blocks turn right on broadway go down to 42nd st turn RIGHT this IS a tuff right hand turn and BTW at this time you are in the middle of TIMES SQUARE. go two blocks turn left I think thats 111th you should see the center on your right go to the end of it turn right go to the parkway turn right...
    STAY RIGHT there is a lane there for truck parking I HIGHLY RECOMEND YOU SNEAK IN AT NIGHT TIME...if you dont trust these directions call the local NYPD not on the 911 line and they will give you the same directions
    that is how i got them in the first place.

    178th street exit there is no 187th

    U might want to check that out again it's like the first exit once u cross the GW

    don't have to it's the first exit = 178th street ......no such exit as 187th......after over 35 years and 75% of it going into the city 4-6 days a week


    and your not allowed over 55 feet total length in manhattan

    wonder how all those over 55 trucks get into the Javitts center concert trucks going into Madison Square garden and how the WWE gets in. all the trade shows how bout when nascar goes up and takes thier cars for tv like on fox news
    but I am not going to argue with you over it....
