Someone suggested Costco to me on a reddit thread. According to the poster, they claimed their drivers only do 40 hours a week. Seems too to pass up if I ever get contacted. Put in an app for the SLC distribution center a few weeks ago, but no calls back. But I'm going to keep persisting for that work/life balance. Already getting to that point where I dread heading back out on the road after 2-3 days off. I'd rather be at home after a shift working on my model trains or down at the range.
Driving company trucks for Costco.

I'm seeing quite a few feed commodity companies out of UT and ID that are looking for drivers. Most of us run back and forth from Utah to as far north as Boise. Often a 14 hour day but if you plan it right you can be home a few times weekly if not nightly.
My wife's ex works for associated foods out of Ogden and says they are often hiring drivers running loads from the DC in Ogden to there stores around UT and ID.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -

There's a few milk plants in the general area. DFA down in Portales, SWC in Clovis, Select plant in Muleshoe, Lonestar Milk in Canyon, and of course Hiland/DFA in Lubbock.
These are all production/processing plants. Some do cheese, some do powdered milk, some do straight up bottle/pasteurized.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I see.... I was wondering if you were currently at DFA in UT. Just curious how many times I pass you. I'm company driver running feed for Bateman's in UT, to not only our 4 dairies and 2 feedlots, but also many others around UT and Juab county and quite a few in Idaho. Regularly chasing or passing the DFA guys at night.

A few guys from my company went to Costco in SoCal they said Costco doesn’t like to give ot but they have been there a few years now which should tell you something and the last I spoke to them they seemed to like it

Not too concerned about overtime. If regular time pays decent enough, I just like to head back home and hit the range or play with my trains.
Too ugly to have gotten into the child support drama that seems to keep many fellow drivers running hard. Just a lonely old cat guy on the train spectrum.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
