Make sure you print out your MVR report and put on the same info on your orientation sheet. They dropped me because I put some tickets I thought I had on my sheet. Pulled the MVR record and it states clean. A good starter company, but double check your paperwork before going to orientation.

I would think they wouldn't have an issue with that being that way and not the other way around with not disclosing and them finding it. -
run...from....them....try schneider

@BamaTrucker I was wondering why you said this? It would be helpful if you could supply me with some more info. Also, who are you working for now and why? Thanks!

At first it was great, had a older freighliner century, and running about 2200 mi a week, then as more students came in and graduated, and my pay went up the miles went down, the drivers making .28 cpm were getting bigger loads, and well i quit 8 months in and was eventually sued for not completing my contract. i have written the whole story here...
but all in all... you get crappy equipment, mileage is low, and freight is slow for them. i am with schneider now, in orientation, and i know this company spends alot of time training you and making sure you know what you are doing out there... also have 5 times more freight than PAM. but the choice is up to you, if your interested in finding out more about schneider PM me and ill tell you the truth.BossOutlaw88 Thanks this. -
I was pretty scared about working for PAM because of all the bad stuff written. Then every trucking company had all this horrible stuff written about it online. It seems like the people who have a good experience rarely get online and write about it, but everyone with a complaint makes a review. then when someone writes something good they just say the person works for the company or is a recruiter. But you can research facts yourself, for example PAM only keeps their trucks for three years. All their trucks are new or close to it. The equipment was good with PAM. The trucks are faster than a lot of companies. The team pay is average. Solo pay is very low. They force you to do at least six months as a team and try to push the whole team thing (or become a trainer after six months). C-1 and PAM give you the minimal training they possibly can get away with and this is no exaggeration. If you can survive that you will likely be give a team mate who is unprofessional or incompatible in some other way. If you can sign up with a team mate you already know and can somehow manage to get enough sleep in while doing teams you can make $1,000 a week with PAM starting out. You will go through a period of time when they give you a lot of miles and other times you won't make much. The company is just there for you to fill your one year contract and move on or else become a trainer (you will make about $1,000 to $1,500 a week as a trainer). PAM gets a worse rap than they deserve because of all the new students coming in and bad mouthing them though. It's not really a bad company to start out in other than the lack of training. You can't count on making good money your first year either. Sometimes you will make a lot with PAM and other times not. A lot of it depends on whether the dispatcher is mad at you or not and as well how busy they are and how many new hires they bring in etc. it's constantly changing.

Team pay is 35 cents split in two, or you can say .1759 for your miles and your partners. This is the same as a lot of other companies. Solo is currently .25
The trucks do at least 65 mph. Some of them are a little faster. I would pass Swift, Schneider etc. up all day long. The worse part of PAM is that they will hire anybody, so they have bad trainers, bad partners etc. Most of the mechanics, dispatchers etc. are fresh out of school and go on to a higher paying job once they get experience. PAM is just a company to start out in, but if you take it for what it is (a place to get experience) I don't think it's too bad. Not saying it is great, but you got to start somewhere. I thought it would be worse than what it was given the online posts. But I have worked at a lot of jobs- all of them suck. I don't expect work to be a vacation. -
I don't know where you get 65mph from. If you're lucky you'll get a truck that does 63 -64 and those are usually the freightliners after a few miles on cruise control. You must be trusting the speedometer ... next time you're in a construction area compare what the both say
Obviously, with a mere two posts to your name and spending those two posts advertising for PAMela you arent a trustworthy source and furthermore you are giving out misinformation which I do not appreciate. I worked for PAM for a year and a half having left there recently so if anyone needs real information feel free to ask me.Last edited: May 11, 2013
