Can my company zip tie driver side sun visor which prevents me from using it properly to prevent sun glare in the mornings & high beam light at night? Is it illegal for them to do that?

I’m guessing the visor may cover up a camera since he said he uses it at night because of high beam headlights.

I'm surprised to read that some company wrench didn't just cut out the "offending part" of visor.
I've seen such "trimming" done on right side visors in Volvo Twucks.

Clip the zip and Drive Safe!!

I would tell them, I will use the visor as needed since it is approved by the DOT and if they don’t like it, find another driver.

snowlauncher and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Apparently they can do it. Did you ask why they did it?

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

If they did that to me without even saying something about it, I would just cut those zip ties off. And not say anything about that either.

Bean Jr., D.Tibbitt, Coover and 5 others Thank this.

Well here is the thing, it isn't illegal for them to do that but it is a huge liability if you get into an accident. If they force you not to use the safety equipment to safely drive the truck, the person who you get involved with in an accident can sue the crap out of them and YOU.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

As said above, cut it and carry on.
I'm the driver and I'll decide if I use the visor or not.

Companies that cut that chunk out of the sunvisor to prevent camera blocking or the interior of the truck are being foolish in my opinion. If anything those visors need to be more expandable than they are. We’ve all encountered really bad sun glare. Those visors are there for a reason. Too bad if you want to point a #### camera at my face 24 seven. I’m trying to safely drive the truck and keeping the sun out of my face so I can see where I’m going is part of it. That’s what I would say about it.
