Took truck in to have code pulled for a sensor. Left with a whole new problem. They checked my nox sensors cuz their computer would not access my truck. Don't know what all they may have unplugged.
When I left, the display in Peterbilt went out like I turned off key. Came back on. Then that image of dpf full guage starts pooping up and beeping. I try to pull over to force Regen. But pushing in clutch or going to nuetral makes it go away in about 5 seconds. Cant Regen it.
I finally got tired of it and just kept driving. Truck did not derate . After a minute or less the light would go away. Randomly comes on and goes away.
If you watch video to end you can see needle drop down and it goes away. Notice the dpf error light at left is just on, not flashing as it should be if filter is full. Also the STOP light is on in dash . If this was a real issue the truck would count down and shut off.
Still getting 8.7mpg. runs good.
Also 1 time def guage just dropped to empty and then back up to half tank.
They must have left something loose.
Don't think dpf is actually full since it was fine when I went in. And truck does not derate if I drive it Thanks for any help.
DPF full error and cannot initiate a regen.

If it's anything like a Volvo, I'd check the wire, fuse, and connector from the batteries to the aftertreatment control module. From my experience, when the DEF gauge drops to zero it usually means that you've lost power to the aftertreatment system.

That could be it. Now just got to figure out what that wire is.
I got a orange wrapped bundle running from back around over driver tank. That might be it. -

Maybe that is why they have trouble hooking computer to my truck.
Peterbilt hooked up and said the only code in there was a fault in fuel switch. No faults for that dpf full light coming on and off. -
When my trucks def sensor started going bad it messed with the level of def and would throw codes off and on. It's a KW though, not a Volvo.
markk Thanks this. -

Based on your description of the fault/regen request coming and going on its own, I would say you have a wonky DPF delta pressure sensor or a wiring issues that affect the sensor operation. Sensors are common for intermittent failure in range causing elevated pressure triggering intermittent and frequent regen requests at random.
Regen history in the ECM will tell a story. Delta pressure should be consistent and close in pressure, regen to regen, but will elevate over time. Dramatic spikes in the freeze frame data with no other faults but regens requested are most commonly sensor related.
Engine? If MX make sure engine software is up to date. Are you current on DPF cleaning/maintenance
Ultimately you need to get hooked up as it sounds like you have faults that may have also Inhibited stationary regeneration? Were you stopped with park brake set when you tried to start with the switch? Did you have any CEL on with DPF full and DPF light on?Last edited: Oct 31, 2021

Everything was fine. This is intentional. I just wanted him to tell me what sensor has been throwing code. I already knew but forgot exactly what. It was the fuel pressure sensor.
Anyway , I told him just hook up computer and confirm the sensor. He wanted to do the work and change my fuel filters. This part is why I know this was intentional. I said no because I only had 500 bucks. I would I stall parts myself. He then had a tech hook up computer. He said could not access my truck. Then boss told me I should just go somewhere else cuz they are going to cost me a lot of money.
I said just read the code if you can.
Then I mentioned that of my dpf and def filters just happened to be too clogged to clean, my warranty would pay to install new ones. Money for them.
Left truck . Came back told nothing wrong. No codes. That is a lie. Kenworth had recently showed it to me. Been there as long as I owned truck . After leaving Peterbilt hooked up and showed me same code.
Now when I go to pay for this quick diag, it is almost 500. Quite pricey. Just the amount I had.
Then I leave and truck says dpf full. Odd since Peterbilt just serviced truck and checked them.
He did something.
The filters are not bad. Truck dont derate or shut off even though the stop light is on. Runs great.
No codes showing for the dpf stuff.
I think he broke a wire since my display went off and on and do did def guage -
I dtove it like that from Des Moines to Wichita ks. Constantly popping up and then just going away . No problems at all. It would have shut me down fast if it was full like guage said.
MX13.
Waiting on a broker to pay up. Then ill go to shop and pay thousands for them to dig through the wiring.
Or I might just delete it. Well if software is not too new. I need that split exhaust to go away. Want a PTO so I can haul pneumatic or end dump -
If you know whats wrong and do not need help then why the post here? Dont ask for help if you dont need it.
Take my advise or dont. Blame the last guy to work on it.....dont care. Delete it and dont look back if thats what you desire. Wont hurt my feelings one bit.
