It means the injector that heats the exhaust to run the manual regen is stuck or screwed cost to fix bout 500 bucks if u don't do it yourself .
-
that doesnt sound too bad i guess. are you saying that it will still do an auto regen while i drive? it just wont be able to do a manual until it gets fixed?
i actually did a manual regen about 350 miles before this check engine light came on. is that possibly what caused it? i didnt have to do one, but i had problems with this truck not automatically regening a few months ago, so i usually try to do a manual once a week or so, just to be safe. -
I really appreciate that 2nd post. here is my situation though. I really have roughly a 5% chance of having a shop in my area taking a look at this week being it's really only a 3 day week. I am taking a week off starting on the 10th. I really can't afford to take 2 and a half weeks off, but obviously I don't want to do any engine or dpf damage in the meanwhile. Is is safe for me to drive this the next week and a half, in pretty much all highway, I never idle. Will it still do passive regens for me? Will a dpf injector leak fuel into the oil like a normal injector would? Thanks for any help
-
The truck will continue to do passive regens, but u wont be able to do a manual regen. Truck will go to through the motions of mannual regen but the dpf filter will never reach required temperature to clean.
I ran my Isx for months before I had time to fix it no harm no damage.
The injector is in the exhaust just after the turbo can't leak anything without being burned off. -
The cos is the injector gets covered in soot and sticks its a part called the doser which slides open and closes as required for manual regen its not tough to fix yourself two bolts and some brake cleaner hey presto. However the doser can split then a new one is required.

Well pardon me all to hell. Your right in all u say. He asked what the code was not a detailed how to do it. Mine was easy his might not be.

Don't get me wrong. We are all here to help. We just don't want to lead someone down the wrong path. His may unbolt no problem, but it is only fair to make sure people know not everything goes smoothly and problems can be encountered to the point where you may find yourself in over your head.
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this. -
Don't forget that if your cleaning the doser it does need to be flow tested to insure the spay and flow is in spec. If your replacing it or cleaning it, the parameters for the AFI need to be reset in INSITE. Unless people like melting the DPF. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get the ECM cal updated at that time to.
Heavyd Thanks this.
