...well of course not with an attached trailer...but if I had to move a converter gear dolly and do not have a hitch on my tractor, any reason I could not hook it up to a pintle hitch on a pick up to tow it?...You can move them without brake lines attached and from what I have seen, they are under the weight requirement to require brakes on the trailer as just itself as a trailer...so anything legally or physically that would prevent being able to move one with a pickup?...assuming a tail light adapter was in play...

physically i think you could assuming that dollys do not have spring breaks. and you would have to build your own adapter for lights. as far as legally im not sure i don't i would think a dolly would be heavy enough to require trailer breaks on a 3/4 or 1 ton

Don't see a problem as long as the lights worked. Might get you some funny looks, but that should be it.

As long as your pick up is registered to pull your combined weight, your hitch is properly rated, your dolly does not require e-brakes and your lights are proper, it should be a legal load. Just keep in mind that I am not a Lawyer, I just play one on the internet. :) In my area, Northern Va., DOT have been busting a lot of small companies for loading up their trailers and then pulling them with a two axle dump truck. Class B Drivers pulling a Class A load because of weight restrictions as well as having a pivot point. They are also getting busted because they are exceeding the weight on their truck registration. I guess they think it is cheaper in the long run. Snap a pic and post it. I would like to see it. Good Luck with the move.

I just wonder why do you wanna do that? You can always hook your dolly up to the back of a trailer, no?

Why do you want to move a dolly and just a dolly?

I seen some hillybillys around here pulling a dolly with a 40ft dry van hooked to a 70ish 1/2 ton chevy truck...so a 3/4 or one ton should do it just dont go too fast

Seems heavy, unless it is a tandem dolly.
